Student answer (Band 5.5)
From past few years, air transport, trade and popular culture, globalisation has highly increased via internet. Most of the population think that the increament of the interactions between nationas via globalisation is a fair thing. According to my opinion I also think it is a good thing that increase interactions in inter nation population. Because it opens wide variety of job opportunities and mixed up various cultures around the world.
Firstly, with the advancement of inter nation communication through globalisation opens a huge range of employement options. With the air travel and trade there will be a huge development in import and export market. It will help to genarate new job opportunities. For example, the still developing third world countries like Sri Lanka can earn dollars from export employers to the developed countries like Australia. With the advancemant of internet facilities people can earn dollars while sit in their own room in their own mother land.
Secondly, globalisation helps us to know about the different cultures around the world. If we will go to abroad for educational purpose, we need to mix up with the students from the different areas. And also through internet we can make friends from different countries with different cultures. Recant research showed that, due to internet usage and globalisation, most teenagers know different types of cultures and new generation tend to break the cultural barriers by making relationships with the people came from different cultures.
In conclusion, recent years with the advancemant of internet, air travel, trade and popular culture, globalisation has significantly increased, and it opened the opportunities such as widen the job market and mixed up cultures all over the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the view that globalisation is beneficial and providing a clear personal opinion. The student establishes a position right from the introduction, stating that increased international interactions bring positive outcomes such as job opportunities and cultural exchange. Main ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as Sri Lankan workers earning dollars or teenagers breaking cultural barriers via the internet. However, there is a tendency to overgeneralise slightly and some arguments are somewhat repetitive in their development, preventing the response from reaching a higher band. Overall, the task is adequately fulfilled and the core prompt is fully covered.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear organizational structure, including an introduction, two distinct body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader, such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion.' However, referencing and transitions are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in phrases like 'From past few years' and 'mixed up various cultures.' Additionally, some sentences lack smooth logical progression due to awkward phrasing and mechanical links, placing the response firmly in the band 6 category for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'advancement,' 'development,' and 'globalisation.' However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices throughout the text, including 'increament' instead of 'increase,' 'inter nation' instead of 'international,' and 'export employers' instead of 'exporters' or 'employees.' Spelling errors like 'genarate,' 'sit,' and 'Recant' also occur. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main message, these frequent slips in word choice and spelling prevent the response from achieving a higher lexical band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response shows a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures such as relative clauses and conditional-like constructions ('If we will go to abroad...'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in prepositions, tense usage, and article placement. Examples include 'From past few years' instead of 'Over the past few years,' 'According to my opinion I also think' (redundancy), and 'while sit in their own room' instead of 'while sitting.' Furthermore, punctuation and phrasing errors, such as 'If we will go,' detract from control. These persistent errors indicate a band 5 level of grammatical accuracy.
