Student answer (Band 5.5)
whether increasing globalisation or increase interaction between nations through globalisation is a good thing or bad thing it is considerable debate in my stance increasing globalisation is good thing and it is beneficial to both nations interacting
Overall this essay will demonstrate that whether globalisation is good thing or bad thing , to being with , one of the main reason that makes globalisation really beneficial is that you can connect with your type of people easily through the internet and can make friends around the world just with the help of social media which really helps people who are introvert and who struggle to make friends in person so they get chance to connect with the people in the way they are comfortable moreover the business between countries can increase rapidly which can generate high revenue for businesses leading to higher gdp and more jobs for people which lowers the unemployment in country by huge margin , additionally businesses can expand their business in other countries to make their company multi national company which will help both the countries generate huge revenue and infrastructure , lastly countries can trade goods and services in which they comparative advantage respectively at cheaper price if they are trading partners which will help citizens get amazing quality product and cost efficient.
However their are number of drawbacks of increasing globalisation throughout the world , firstly which I begin with is that countries really get dependent on eachother which can be huge drawback if other county puts tariffs or any international trade restrictions moreover if multi national companies takeover market share that countries local business may struggle or even collapse in long term leading high unemployment and lastly people may also get scammed by other people through internet which can hurt businesses financially and mentally .
In conclusion although their are some drawbacks I still believe that potential benefits outweighs drawbacks if countries don’t get really dependent on eachother

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the views on globalisation and providing a clear personal opinion. The student outlines several relevant ideas, such as internet connectivity for introverts, economic growth, job creation, trade advantages, as well as drawbacks like economic dependency, local business struggles, and online scams. However, the development of these ideas is hindered by a lack of proper punctuation and paragraphing, which turns the body of the essay into overwhelmingly massive run-on sentences. While the ideas are relevant and extend the argument to some extent, the lack of structured expansion keeps the task response limited. Therefore, it fits the descriptor for Band 5.5, balancing relevant content with under-developed and poorly separated structural presentation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Coherence and cohesion are severely impacted by the complete absence of full stops, capitalisation for new sentences, and appropriate paragraph breaks. The student essentially writes the entire body of the essay in two enormous, continuous sentences connected by coordinating conjunctions and commas. While transitional phrases like 'to being with', 'moreover', 'additionally', 'lastly', and 'however' are attempted, their effectiveness is lost due to the lack of sentence demarcation. There is no clear overall progression of sentences because individual sentences cannot be identified easily. Referencing is basic, and paragraphing is inadequate as the main arguments are crammed into block paragraphs without proper boundaries. This performance aligns closely with the Band 4.5 to 5.0 descriptors, specifically fulfilling Band 5 where organisation is attempted but mechanical and repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The lexical resource demonstrates an adequate range for the task, with attempts to use less common and topic-specific vocabulary such as 'multinational company', 'comparative advantage', 'infrastructure', 'unemployment', and 'tariffs'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'whether' instead of 'weather' (implied context of debate), 'to being with' instead of 'to begin with', 'county' instead of 'country', and awkward phrasings like 'connect with your type of people easily'. The vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic arguments regarding globalisation, but the frequency of lexical inaccuracies and spelling errors prevents the score from reaching a higher band, comfortably placing it at Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range and accuracy are weak, primarily due to extreme run-on sentences and a complete disregard for punctuation such as periods and commas in appropriate places. The student relies heavily on coordinating conjunctions like 'and' and 'moreover' to string clauses together endlessly. There is a very limited control of complex sentence structures used accurately, and basic grammar rules regarding punctuation are frequently ignored. Simple sentences are rare because everything is chained together into complex structures that contain frequent errors in agreement, punctuation, and clause separation. This causes noticeable difficulty for the reader and justifies a Band 4.5, rounded to a Band 5.0 based on the presence of some correct clauses.
