Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, it is frequently argued that globalization has rapidly rose through internet, as it is used for accessing air travel, trade and popular culture. I believe as what other people think that the increased interaction between nations through globalization is a good thing.
On the one hand, countries that rely on each other can widen the range of products and materials. For instance, exporting a smartphone may be designed in one country, have parts made in several countries, be assembled elsewhere, an then sold worldwide. In this case, it is easier to find materials for the gadget and can sell to other countries. In addition, we can experience other countries' cultures through food and movies or series. For instance, we can have authentic dishes not only from Asian countries such as siomai, dimsum and more. We can also enjoy watching korean actors through their famous KDrama.
Furthermore, there can be more job opportunities for Filipinos. For example, remote or online jobs such as Virtual Assistance or English as a Second Language teachers for countries like Vietnam, China, and Taiwan. Moreover, it will be accessible to people to purchase clothes whether it is branded or not. One example is that we can buy Uniqlo even if the brand is from Japan. Similarly, we can shop online on Amazon and other e-commerce platform where trading is common.
In conclusion, I believe that the interaction among countries and nation through globalization is a great thing for the reason that people will gain advantages from it. It will make us live easier and more convenient.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing the view that globalization is a positive development and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is uneven. While some points, such as international manufacturing processes and cultural exchange through food and media, are introduced with relevant examples like smartphones and K-Dramas, other sections rely on limited and under-developed ideas. For instance, the reference to remote jobs for Filipinos is introduced abruptly without deep explanation, and the point about purchasing branded clothes like Uniqlo is a repetitive listing of e-commerce conveniences rather than a fully extended argument. The writer's position is clear throughout the essay and reiterated in the conclusion, though the supporting arguments would benefit from greater depth to move beyond general observations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, separating the introduction, two body paragraphs, and the conclusion. However, progression is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices. Transition markers like 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover' are used to signal shifts between ideas, but referencing within sentences is occasionally unclear, such as the dangling clause in 'it is easier to find materials for the gadget and can sell to other countries', where the subject of the second verb is missing. Paragraphing is generally logical, dividing economic and cultural benefits, but internal connections between sentences can feel disjointed due to abrupt transitions and occasional run-on structures.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating a generally appropriate range of terms related to international trade and culture, such as 'globalization', 'interaction', 'exporting', and 'authentic dishes'. The writer attempts less common vocabulary like 'e-commerce platform' and 'convenient', but some word choice and word form errors are present. For example, the phrase 'globalization has rapidly rose' misuses the verb form, and expressions like 'accessible to people to purchase' display awkward collocation. Nevertheless, these lexical inaccuracies do not seriously impede communication, and the overall vocabulary successfully conveys the intended meaning of the arguments presented.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional-like structures. However, there are noticeable errors in grammar and punctuation that persist throughout the text. These include tense and verb form errors, such as 'globalization has rapidly rose' instead of risen, and subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'platforms where trading is common' or missing subjects in compound predicates. Prepositions and article usage also show occasional lapses, as seen in 'through internet' instead of through the internet. While these errors occur frequently enough to catch the reader's attention, they rarely impede the overall comprehension of the writer's message.
