Student answer (Band 5.5)
Internet has revolutionalised the world. It shrinks the distance between countries and made people closer to each other.
Information technology enables the population to be independent, instead of relying on anyone. With the help of internet, one can easily do any kind of task by themself in a number of ways. Firstly, communication is getting easier day-by-day, now you can talk with your loved ones via whatsapp, facebook messenger and other talking applications. If individuals plan to travel, he can book tickets by himslef without paying any single penny to travel agent.
Trade is also become very promising in recent times, you can sell your products in any part of the world by using websites such as Amazon. These means of trade are quite cost effective and profitable. Through all these initiatives globalisation has increased rapidly. Apart from financial benifits, culture promotion is also prominent by this.
In my point of view, although it do has some cons such as local market destruction, environmental harm, and increase wealth gaps, yet pros outweighs the disadvantages. It is evident from this example that during recent India-Pakistan war in 2025, both countries were at the verge of destruction, but globalisation played crucial role in saving the countires. Due to easy communication, both countries along with their allies talked on phone calls and subsided their differences.
In conlcusion, despite having disadvantages of internet, life cannot be imagined without the web services. So, One should looks towards the positive side of the picture, and accept the fact that globalisation has casted the positive image on nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of globalisation and providing a personal opinion, yet some parts of the task are only partially developed. The writer presents relevant ideas regarding communication, trade, and cultural promotion, but the discussion tends to rely on limited generalisations. For instance, the counterarguments mentioning local market destruction and environmental harm are stated briefly without adequate extension or support. Furthermore, the example provided about a future India-Pakistan war lacks plausibility and fails to effectively substantiate the argument. While a clear position is expressed that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, the supporting ideas require more thorough elaboration, specific examples, and balanced analysis to reach a higher level of development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some overall organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but there is a lack of clear progression throughout the text. Paragraphing is attempted, though the logical flow between ideas is occasionally disrupted by abrupt shifts in focus, such as moving rapidly from internet independence to trade without smooth transitional bridges. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes repetitive or inadequately applied, such as the frequent reliance on 'also' and simple connective patterns. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in pronoun usage where antecedents are not always precisely linked. To improve coherence, the writer needs to ensure stronger thematic links between sentences and develop a more seamless flow from one paragraph to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the basic points of the essay. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items and subject-related terms like 'globalisation', 'independent', and 'cost effective', but there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation, such as 'revolutionalised', 'benifits', and 'himslef'. Furthermore, awkward collocations and informal phrasing, such as 'paying any single penny' and 'talking applications', reduce the precision of the writing. These lexical slips and spelling inaccuracies are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary that falls short of more sophisticated expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The grammatical structures employed show a limited range, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside poorly controlled complex attempts. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'trade is also become' and 'pros outweighs', incorrect pronoun forms such as 'by themself' and 'he can book', and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation errors are also notable, including comma splices and misplaced capitalization in the middle of sentences. These frequent grammatical inaccuracies can cause difficulty for the reader and indicate that the writer lacks consistent control over complex sentence forms, keeping the grammatical range and accuracy at a modest level.
