Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall opinion that globalisation is beneficial despite environmental harm, and you address both advantages and disadvantages. Relevant points include poverty reduction, trade revenue, tourism and pollution from air travel. However, these ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with specific examples, so the discussion remains limited and under-developed. The response also does not meet the required minimum: it contains 174 words, which is 76 words short; 23 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. This restricts the space available to develop your reasoning. To strengthen the response, explain how one or two benefits affect people or countries, add a concrete example, and make your position clear throughout rather than mainly in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on benefits and a drawback, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within the body is limited, as several points are presented briefly without showing how they connect or develop. Linking is also sometimes mechanical: repeated openings such as “Through…” and “Nowadays” make the paragraphs feel like a list. Some connections are unclear, particularly “Trading and popular culture has connect many peoples,” which does not clearly lead into the benefits that follow. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main claim, then explain and illustrate it. More precise referencing and a wider range of natural transitions would make the argument flow more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “investment,” “poverty,” “revenue,” “tourism industry” and “pollutants.” These choices make the subject clear, but the overall range is limited and some wording is inaccurate or repetitive, which can make the reader pause. Examples include “environmental changes” where you mean environmental damage, “increased in the business opportunites,” and “cirulation of money.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “globaliztion,” “emmision” and “economeies.” Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “expand trade opportunities” or “generate tourism revenue” would help you express the ideas more naturally and specifically.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast in “despite environmental pollution…” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement and articles occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “Trading and popular culture has connect” has incorrect agreement and verb form, while “many countries are mainly rely” combines incompatible verb patterns. In “people from developing countries finds opportunities,” the subject and verb do not agree. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, especially in the opening, where a comma is missing after “internet” and the transition to “So” is abrupt. Practise building accurate sentences before adding more complex clauses.
