Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall opinion in the conclusion, stating that globalisation’s benefits are greater, and you identify relevant advantages such as trade, online shopping, education and employment. You also acknowledge a possible drawback involving internet outages. However, the discussion is only partial: the examples are listed rather than explained, and the negative side is limited to one narrow problem. The response contains 175 words, so it is 75 words below the required minimum; 16 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. This limits the space available to develop your reasons and support your position. To strengthen the response, explain how each example benefits people and discuss a broader counterargument before showing why you disagree with it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from advantages to a disadvantage and then gives a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “first of all,” “secondly,” “additionally” and “however” help signal these shifts. However, the body reads mainly as a list, with little explanation connecting the examples to the central argument. Several points are placed in separate lines without clear paragraph development, and the repeated additive transitions make the progression mechanical. The opening sentence also runs into the next idea without clear punctuation. Group related advantages into a developed paragraph, use a separate paragraph for drawbacks, and add linking sentences that explain how each example supports your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “international cooperation,” “economic opportunities,” “import and export” and “online communities.” These choices make your main subject clear. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors affect fluency, for example “inovations,” “benefical,” “convinent,” “deseaster” and “dollers.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “people who they work import and export business” and “globally recognise organizations.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and avoid repeating “online” and “making money.” More precise terms for the effects of globalisation would help you explain your ideas with greater clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response communicates its basic meaning through mostly simple statements, and you attempt to connect ideas with clauses using “because” and “when.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “people who they work import and export business” has an incorrect relative-clause structure, while “globalisation have” and “it create” show subject–verb agreement problems. In “people arranged there meetings,” the tense and possessive form are incorrect. Punctuation is also weak: the opening sentence needs a full stop after “increased.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a supporting clause, checking agreement, tense and sentence boundaries.
