Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a generally positive view of globalisation and give relevant reasons, including economic opportunities, international trade, cultural understanding and communication through the internet. However, the task asks you to discuss the view and give your own opinion; the response mainly lists benefits and does not consider any opposing perspective or explain why the benefits outweigh possible disadvantages. Your position is suggested in the introduction and conclusion, but it is not stated precisely or developed with enough explanation. For example, the trade example—“they can get stable income but not how much they really want”—does not clearly show how global interaction benefits nations. Develop fewer points with specific, clearly explained examples and make your opinion explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the essay. However, the ideas do not progress consistently: the first body paragraph moves from travel and employment to trade, while the next combines opportunities, culture and internet access without clearly showing how each point connects to the main argument. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “it” in “it helps people” are not always clear. Organise each body paragraph around one central reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving on. More precise transitions between related ideas would make the overall progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “financial stability,” “cognitive ability” and “import and export,” and some choices show an effort to use formal language. However, noticeable spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “approch,” “suitabe,” “postive conneciton” and “brodens their perspective”; phrases such as “renowned culture” and “bound the different countries” are also unclear in context. The vocabulary range is therefore limited in effective use, despite the ambitious attempts. Prioritise accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, explain that trade can “expand markets” rather than relying on unclear phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some longer sentence patterns, including “For instance, if anyone is trading solely in own country…” and the concluding sentence beginning “Therefore,” but control is inconsistent. Frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction can make the reader pause. Examples include “the world has been evolved,” “Most of the people consider that progressively stay connected,” “On of the major reason is boost the economy,” and “globalization play an imperative role.” Some sentences also lack a clear grammatical subject or complete structure. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” or “which.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles and verb patterns during revision.
