Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both benefits and drawbacks and state a preference in “In my opinion, it is more advancious,” then conclude that benefits outweigh disadvantages. Relevant points include easier trade, access to essential goods for island nations, job creation, and pressure on local businesses. However, the position is not fully clear or consistently explained, and several ideas remain general: for example, the claim that governments can easily solve the effects on local industries is not supported with an explanation or example. The response also falls short of the required 250 words, so the discussion and supporting details are limited. Develop each main point with a specific example and explain how it supports your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on trade benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and links between ideas are often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, “Those nations which can not complete the needs of their people” is an incomplete continuation of the preceding point, while “It can be easily solved” has an unclear reference. The conclusion repeats the benefits-versus-demerits claim rather than drawing the discussion together. Use complete topic sentences, connect each explanation directly to its main point, and make references explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global trade,” “multinational companies,” “job creation,” and “local agricultural and textiles industries.” These terms allow you to communicate the general subject and both sides of the discussion. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “more advancious,” “complete the needs,” and “fewer demerits.” Spelling errors are also noticeable, including repeated forms such as “globilization” and “busnesses,” which can distract the reader. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “meet people’s needs” and “local businesses,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the economic effects clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer structures, including “although globalization has few disadvantages and this can be easily tackled by governments,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in phrases such as “it provide huge benefits,” “small and local businesses has suffered,” and “many governments has successfully done it.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable: the opening has missing spaces after full stops, and “Those nations which cannot complete the needs of their people” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Most sentences rely on simple patterns, with limited accurate variety. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation before adding more complex clauses.
