Student answer (Band 6.0)

Globalisation has become more popular with the modern technological advancements which in-turn results in more connections with different nations. In my opinion, I believe that increase in globalisation has led people to know about other nations and to spread their wings and explore different opportunities available in other parts of the world.

Eventhough some people believe that these changes are constructive, there are a group that opposes this view. With the availability of advanced technological methods like internet, air travel, trade; the country is being exposed in all ways. People's privacy is being affected by these advancements.

However, I would believe that these changes has helped people in many ways. As said earlier, since everything is availbale in fingertips, it becomes easy for people to find out more about the place they are visiting, to book rooms, to find best restaurants availabe, activities that can be done. Everything can be planned ahead. Easy availability of transportation also gives more opprtunity to attract tourists.

A further advantage of globalisation is that we can learn about the culture, which is the most integral part of a nation. Also, when we have a strong bond between two nations, this promises the safety of people traveling around these places and opprtunities that are available to build a new career.

In conclusion, I largely agree that globalisation has brought more advantages than disadvantages. As the nations becomes more friendly, it opens the door of opportunities to the younger generation, as a result both nations benefit. Also, increase in trade helps in mitigating the needed raw materials that each country is in need for. Altogether, globalisation is boom to the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you largely support globalisation, and you discuss both a concern and several benefits. The points about planning travel, learning about culture, career opportunities and trade are relevant to the question. This covers the task well overall, but the discussion is uneven: the opposing view is limited to a brief claim that privacy is affected, without explaining how or giving an example. Some benefits are also asserted rather than developed—for instance, the link between stronger relations and travellers’ safety needs clarification. To strengthen the response, explain the privacy concern and support each main point with a specific example or a clearer cause-and-effect explanation. Your conclusion restates your view, though the phrase “globalisation is boom to the future” is not fully clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting a concern, two paragraphs on benefits, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “However,” “A further advantage,” and “In conclusion” help readers see the direction of the argument. This gives the essay coherent overall organisation. Some connections are less smooth or precise: “Eventhough” introduces opposition, but the following sentence does not clearly explain who holds that view, while “As said earlier” refers back to a point that is not developed in the introduction. The travel examples also form a list rather than a clearly linked explanation. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and organise each body paragraph around one main claim followed by explanation and an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “technological advancements,” “privacy,” “culture,” “trade,” and “raw materials.” These choices make the subject clear, and phrases such as “build a new career” show an attempt to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “spread their wings” in this context, “everything is available in fingertips,” and “globalisation is boom to the future.” Spelling errors such as “availbale,” “opprtunity,” and “opprtunities” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; precise expressions will make your argument sound more controlled and convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “since” and “when,” and most of the argument remains understandable. There are, however, some recurring errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “these changes has helped” should use a plural verb, while “the nations becomes” also needs plural agreement. In “there are a group that opposes,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “globalisation is boom” is missing an article and a suitable noun phrase. The opening sentence is also awkwardly constructed, with “which in-turn results” not clearly attached to its intended subject. Review agreement and article use, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause has a clear subject and verb.
