Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, the technological advancemets have enhanced the globalization. It is easier for different nations to interconnect with each other through multiple sources such as web, modes of transport, imports and exports. Many people regard this connection among nations as a good initiative. In my opinion, it is a positive development and better use of resources.

Firstly, we are living in the twenty-first (21st) century, the things have been eveloved a lot. The technological advancements have made things easier for interconnectedness. For example, through the internet and the mobile phones, the government executives discuss not only the political but also the geographical issues instantly which brings sense of relief. Apart from higher authorties, the natives are connected through social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat. The invited each other to thier respective countries and grow connections. Moreover, the globalization is increased significantly through the integration of modern transporation for passengers and import export. The authorties and natives visit countries within hours to particpate in certain meetings and personal events. Also, the import and export of goods only take days in comparision to past (which took days and months). This not only boosts economy of countries but also share cultural values. There are many prominent examples of such practices where two countries share their goods and celebrate and own each others culture and norms.

But, few people do not take this as a positive approach. Their opinion is that previously at war nations should not connect with each other through either of mode.

In concusion, the technological enhancement has played its part in enhancement of globalization and nations are connecting through integrated ways. It is a positive development as already the world had seen many wars and peace needs to be prevail.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear opinion that globalisation is positive and provide relevant reasons, including faster communication, travel, trade, and cultural exchange. These points address the main view in the prompt, but they are mostly asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that online discussions between government officials “brings sense of relief” does not explain how this benefit occurs. The opposing view is also only briefly mentioned: you say that nations previously at war should not connect, but do not explain this concern or respond to it. To strengthen the response, develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples, and discuss the contrasting view before showing why your position remains more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a main paragraph supporting globalisation, a short paragraph presenting an opposing view, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, the main paragraph contains several different ideas—communication, social media, travel, trade, and culture—without clear separation or enough explanation, so progression is sometimes difficult to follow. Some links are also unclear, as in “The invited each other,” where the reference is not identifiable. The opposing view is too brief to connect meaningfully with the developed supporting points. Organise related ideas into focused paragraphs and use clear references and transitions to show how each point supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “globalization,” “interconnectedness,” “integration,” and “cultural values,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “things,” “nations,” and “positive,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward. Examples include “a good initiative,” “the natives,” and “share cultural values”; these do not express the intended ideas as naturally as “a beneficial development,” “citizens,” and “exchange cultural values.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “advancemets,” “authorties,” and “comparision.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing international cooperation and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “as,” and your overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “the things have been eveloved a lot” has problems with article use and verb form, while “The invited each other” lacks a clear grammatical subject. In “the world had seen many wars and peace needs to be prevail,” the tense and passive construction are not controlled. There are also issues with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “the technological advancements … which brings.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and complete sentence structures before adding more complex clauses.
