Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response makes a limited attempt to address the question: it introduces globalisation and says it will discuss both views and give an opinion, then mentions people going abroad for education and a better future. However, it does not explain whether this is a benefit of increased international interaction, present a contrasting view, or state a clear personal position. The ideas are only briefly introduced and are not supported with relevant examples or explanation. The response also contains 87 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250 words; 11 copied words from the task prompt were excluded from that count. To improve, develop both sides of the argument and make your own view explicit, supporting each main point with reasons and examples relevant to globalisation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph announces the essay’s purpose, followed by a paragraph that appears to introduce a reason. The phrase “This essay will…” signals the intended structure, and “In apropos of this” attempts to connect ideas. However, the promised discussion does not follow, and the second paragraph ends abruptly, so there is little progression from one point to the next. The relationship between the opening claim and the example about students is also unclear. Build a clear sequence with an introduction, separate paragraphs for each view, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions only where they accurately show how ideas relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response attempts some less common and topic-related vocabulary, including “myriad,” “globalisation,” “predominant,” and “bright future.” This shows an effort to move beyond very basic wording. However, several choices or spellings are inaccurate and make parts difficult to understand, such as “inclined” where a word meaning increased is needed, “critics appose,” and “deleve.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “the underlying factors of the scenario” and “students has not opportuninty.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than using formal-sounding words without confidence. A wider range of correctly used terms for benefits, drawbacks, international exchange, and employment would help express the argument more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both a complex opening sentence and a longer sentence explaining the essay’s plan, so there is some evidence of varied sentence construction. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors often make the intended meaning unclear. For example, “students has” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “humans are go to abroad” has an incorrect verb pattern. The opening sentence also lacks clear grammatical connections between its clauses, and punctuation does not reliably separate the ideas. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Check agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries carefully before submitting.
