Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss several relevant benefits of globalisation, including product promotion, international trade, cultural exchange and tourism, and the examples about spice traders in India and visitors in Indonesia help illustrate these points. However, the task asks you to discuss the view and give your own opinion. Your introduction says you will discuss different views, but the essay presents benefits only, without explaining a contrasting perspective or clearly stating whether you personally agree. The conclusion repeats that globalisation is beneficial but does not develop your position. Some points, such as social media increasing sales, are relevant but would benefit from fuller explanation of how this reflects interaction between nations. Address both sides and state your view directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas are generally grouped by topic, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “In addition” and “Overall” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression is somewhat repetitive: both body paragraphs rely heavily on examples, while the links between globalisation and the claimed benefits are not always made explicit. The introduction promises “different views,” but the body does not follow through on that plan. Some transitions, including “Apart from this,” introduce another example rather than a clearly distinct point. Improve cohesion by organising each paragraph around one main claim, explaining it, and then using an example; use references and transitions that show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “advertisements,” “exporter,” “international spice traders,” “culture” and “footfall.” These choices make the subject clear, and examples such as “scale up their business” show an attempt to use more specific phrasing. However, several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “people travelling to difficult countries,” “the trades followed by the culture,” and “increasing in the globalisation.” Repetition of “helps in boosting” and “different” also limits flexibility. Spelling and word-form slips such as “form” for “from” and “cultures” in the singular context are noticeable. Aim for more accurate collocations and vary repeated wording, while keeping the vocabulary precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, using clauses such as “due to which the globalisation has increased” and “as many individuals are active on social media or they travel.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward to read. Examples include “their are” instead of “there are,” “globalisation can also helps,” and “my friend and his family has traveled,” where agreement or verb forms are incorrect. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “different culture.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention, particularly “In addition” and “i.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after modal verbs, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex clauses.
