Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both benefits and drawbacks, including wider access to goods, employment, disease transmission and intellectual-property theft, so the response is relevant to the topic. However, the task asks you to discuss the view that globalisation is a good thing and give your own opinion. Your position is not consistently clear: “Globalisation is both boom and baggage if not regulated” suggests a qualified view, but the conclusion only praises its benefits and does not state your judgement directly. Several points, such as employment and digital marketing, are listed rather than explained with examples or consequences. The response is also 13 words below the required minimum. Develop fewer ideas more fully and make your opinion explicit in both the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “Overall” and “In conclusion” help readers identify these sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the advantages paragraph moves quickly from food availability to income, employment and digital marketing without showing how the points connect. “Overall this change” also begins the disadvantages paragraph in a way that can sound like a summary rather than a clear transition. The conclusion is very brief and does not bring the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example to its main point, and use referencing and transitions that show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “liberalisation of trade,” “international markets,” “employment opportunities” and “intellectual properties.” Phrases such as “boom and baggage” show an attempt to express a nuanced view. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations reduce accuracy, for example “relaiable,” “inhabitanats,” “adv anatages,” and “stolen intellectual properties.” Some wording is also vague or repetitive, such as “many great factors” and repeated references to “globalisation.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and choose precise terms—for example, “intellectual property rights” rather than “intellectual properties.” This would make your ideas clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “With the increasing competition, Nations often stole…” and the sentence about the pandemic. However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “the major advantages … is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Any kind of vegetable or fruits is” has an awkward number pattern. The opening fragment, “Initial, Globalisation was part of industrialisation and liberalisation of trade,” also lacks a natural grammatical construction. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention, particularly where long ideas are joined without clear structure. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, checking agreement and articles, and then add subordinate clauses only when their structure is secure.
