Student answer (Band 5.0)

During recent years, globalisation has increased to much extent through internet, air travel and popular culture sources. Many people find it as a positive respose of globalisation and they believe that it is an ample source of interaction between nations. They think in that way because internet connect themselves with their closed ones live in the other part of the world and they easily get aware of them and in order to seek any kind of help from the person who is beyond their resource they easily make connection by finding out exact location of where the person is currently inhabitant. They think that within the use of internet, they can make friends and arrange fun meetings with them by arranging online meetings so in this way they believe globalisation has increased. Airtravel makes an easy access to every corner of the world and we can easily explore the inhabitants of the different parts of the world and can record meaningful sort of things which adds to our knowledge. So most people think that air travel gives them opportunity to engage with people from different nations. Trade has also been proved to be an important source of globalisation in the recent years as people export and import numerous things and they are capable of trying out a vast variety of food stuffs, clothes, etc. which could not be available in their native country. Culture is such a thing which attracts people the most. They urge to know about the culture of different regions of the entire world and in recent years people start adapting popular culture items and seeks pleasure in it and it sounds familiar to them. My opinion is quiet obvious that globalisation is an essential part through which we can easily connect, interect and share emotions, culture, civilization with other people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both the view that globalisation is beneficial and your own opinion, which is clearly positive in the final sentence. The response gives relevant reasons across internet communication, air travel, trade and popular culture, with examples such as keeping in touch with people abroad and accessing foreign goods. However, these points are not developed equally: the internet example is lengthy and sometimes unclear, while the benefits of trade and cultural exchange are mostly asserted rather than explained. Your opinion also appears only at the end, so its reasoning is not fully established. To strengthen the response, state your position in the introduction and explain the effects of each main example more precisely, including why these interactions benefit nations or individuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response follows a broadly understandable sequence, moving through internet use, air travel, trade and culture before giving your opinion. However, it is presented as one very long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the introduction, supporting points and conclusion. Many sentences are joined by repeated links such as “so,” “and” and “in this way,” creating a list-like progression rather than clear development. Some references are also difficult to follow, particularly “they easily get aware of them” and “the person who is beyond their resource.” Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, grouped supporting ideas and conclusion; then use a wider range of linking expressions and make each pronoun’s reference explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “globalisation,” “interaction,” “export and import,” and “popular culture,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “increased to much extent,” “positive respose,” “closed ones,” and “meaningful sort of things.” Spelling errors, including “interect” and “quiet” where you mean “quite,” also reduce accuracy. Some phrases are vague, for example “culture items” and “adds to our knowledge,” which limits precision. Build a bank of natural topic collocations and check spelling and word forms; choosing simpler, accurate wording will communicate your ideas more effectively than awkwardly ambitious phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “because” and “which,” and your main meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms occur across the response. For example, “internet connect themselves” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an unclear subject, while “people start adapting … and seeks pleasure” shifts agreement within the same sentence. The sentence beginning “They think that within the use of internet” is also difficult to control because several ideas are joined together. Review subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries, and divide long sentences into shorter units. More accurate control of these patterns would make your complex ideas easier to follow.
