Student answer (Band 5.0)
These days, a sudden surge in gloabalisation can be observed by the use of internet, international business and culture popularisation. Few people believe that the interaction between two nations is beneficial. In this i will discuss why i think gloabalisation is good.
One of the most important reasons, why i believe that global connectivity is important is that people can access global markets. This is particularly important because in some countries there is a problem of workforce or manufacturing. By importing goods from different countries, it becomes easier to import the goods at a much cheaper price from another nations. For instance, Australia usually experience shortage of labour for manufacturing so international trade helps to fulfil the requirement of the goods and services required in the country. as a result globalisation is beneficial for global trade between different countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response is relevant to the topic and gives a clear personal view: “I think globalisation is good.” It also offers one supporting reason—access to international markets—and an example involving Australia. However, the task asks you to discuss the view that increased interaction between nations is beneficial and give your opinion; this is addressed only minimally. The response develops trade but does not discuss other effects or consider the view in any depth, and the example is not fully explained. The response is also 111 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop and support your ideas. Add a second distinct reason and explain how each example demonstrates the benefits of globalisation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: an introductory paragraph states your position, followed by a paragraph giving a reason and an example. Linking expressions such as “For instance” and “as a result” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the response has no concluding paragraph, and the progression within the main paragraph is not always clear: the point about access to markets shifts to workforce shortages and then repeats the idea of importing goods. The opening sentence also lists several aspects of globalisation without clearly linking them to the argument. Use a clearer sequence—claim, explanation, example, and result—and add a conclusion that restates your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “global markets,” “international trade,” “manufacturing,” and “goods and services.” These terms help communicate the general argument. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “culture popularisation,” “a problem of workforce,” and “fulfil the requirement of the goods.” There are also spelling errors in “gloabalisation” and “nations” where the intended form is singular in context. Aim for more natural expressions and a wider range of terms for discussing international exchange, employment, and cultural interaction. Proofreading spelling and checking common word combinations would make your meaning more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple sentences and attempts at more complex structures, for example, “This is particularly important because in some countries there is a problem…” The main ideas are generally understandable, but control is uneven. There are errors in sentence boundaries and capitalisation, including “as a result” beginning a sentence in lowercase and “In this i will discuss,” where “I” should be capitalised. Subject–verb agreement is also inaccurate in “Australia usually experience shortage,” and the opening phrase “One of the most important reasons, why…” is punctuated incorrectly. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and sentence punctuation, then proofread each sentence. More consistently controlled complex sentences would strengthen the response.
