Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear positive view of globalisation and support it with relevant points about cultural exchange, trade, travel, employment and countries helping one another during crises. The examples involving a US-made product sold in China and assistance to India help illustrate your position. However, the discussion is one-sided: the prompt asks you to discuss the view, and you do not consider any reasons people might disagree or acknowledge possible disadvantages. Several claims, such as globalisation increasing national income, are asserted rather than explained in detail. The response also contains 242 words, so it is 8 words below the required minimum; the 9 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop both sides and extend your examples to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs group related points, and examples generally follow the claims they illustrate. Basic links such as “For example,” “In conclusion,” and “This also” help the reader follow the main ideas. However, progression is limited because several points are listed together—“trade, culture, employment, national income”—without clear explanation of how they connect. Some linking is awkward or unclear, particularly “Due which these countries have good relation with each other,” and the conclusion repeats benefits rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, develop one main idea at a time, and make references between sentences more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of relevant topic vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “interaction,” “national income,” “customs,” and “financial crises,” so the reader can understand the main subject and your examples. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “helps,” “good,” “countries,” and “relation.” Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “in a opinion,” “built a healthy and mutual relation,” and “pillar for one another.” There are also spelling errors such as “distribued,” “vaction,” and “cirumstance,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling; for example, describe how globalisation “strengthens diplomatic ties” or “supports economic growth” rather than repeatedly saying it helps.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures with “Due to this” and “which helps to increase.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns and in attempts to combine ideas. Examples include “countries can share their culture” (number agreement is inconsistent with the plural subject), “A product made in United States are distribued,” and “people travelling … helps,” where agreement and sentence construction are faulty. Articles and punctuation also need attention, as in “through internet” and the missing space after “each other.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence structures before adding more complex clauses; this will make your ideas easier to follow.
