Student answer (Band 5.0)

I believe Globalisation is a good change and it has rapidly increased in today's day. Internet has brought the world much closer and even culture, today because of the internet people are able to see culturals of different part of the world and even people are able to share their story.

Trade has been accesible around the globe and it has been beneficial to both individuals and countries Gdp. Trade between different nations strengthens ans creates a much stronger bond.

The air travel has become more cheaper than it was back in the olden days and hence people are travelling internationally and exploring the world.

Also due to globalisation its much difficult to hide something countries are speaking about their rights and their voice us being heard by millions all thanks to the internet and globalisation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear opinion—“I believe Globalisation is a good change”—and give relevant points about cultural exchange, trade, air travel and people’s voices being heard. However, the response addresses the task only partially: these points are mostly listed rather than explained, and there is little discussion of why increased interaction between nations is beneficial or of any contrasting view. For example, the claim that trade creates “a much stronger bond” needs an explanation or a specific example. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to support the position. To improve, explain each main reason, add relevant examples, and make the discussion of the view and your own opinion more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, readable structure: it begins with your opinion and then gives separate points about culture, trade, travel and the internet. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these ideas, and linking expressions such as “hence” and “Also” show some awareness of how to connect points. However, the progression is limited because each point is introduced briefly and then the response moves on without developing the connection to the main argument. The opening sentence also combines several ideas, making the focus less clear. Use a clear topic sentence for each paragraph, then explain and illustrate that point before moving to the next. More precise links between examples and your overall view would create stronger progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “trade,” “air travel,” “internationally” and “rights,” so the reader can follow the general subject. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “strengthens … a much stronger bond.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms are inaccurate, including “culturals,” “more cheaper,” and “countries Gdp.” Spelling errors such as “accesible” and “ans” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check word forms and spelling. For instance, describe people as learning about “other cultures,” and refer to “countries’ economies” when discussing trade’s financial benefits.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate your main position using mostly simple sentence patterns, and some longer sentences attempt to connect causes and results, as in “The air travel has become more cheaper … and hence people are travelling internationally.” However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response awkward or unclear. Examples include missing or incorrect articles in “Internet has brought the world,” the sentence fragment-like opening “Internet … and even culture,” and the unclear construction “their voice us being heard.” There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation. Practise building accurate complex sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, agreement and punctuation when editing.
