Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify the topic and begin to discuss benefits, mentioning employment, cultural exchange, education and technology. However, the response does not fully address the task: it gives no developed discussion of why people consider globalisation beneficial, no contrasting perspective, and no clear personal opinion. The examples are brief and general—for instance, the claim that trade creates jobs for indigenous people is not explained or supported. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, leaving too little space to develop the argument. To improve, state your position clearly, discuss the view with specific reasons and examples, and explain how each point supports your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph introduces the subject, and “On the one hand” signals a move to benefits. The ideas about jobs, cultural exchange, education and technology are relevant, but they are compressed into one paragraph and do not form a clear sequence of developed points. The opening sentence is difficult to follow, and the final sentence ends without completing the discussion. Linking is also limited, with “In addition” doing most of the work of connecting ideas. Use separate paragraphs for your position and main points, and connect each claim to its explanation or example so the reader can follow the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “globalization,” “cultural exchange,” “employment opportunities” and “quality of education,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is narrow and several choices or combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “emigrating aboard country,” “results to wide range of benefits” and “the beneficial thing.” These expressions make parts of the argument harder to understand. Aim for accurate collocations and precise wording, such as “moving abroad,” “results in a wide range of benefits” and “a positive development.” Also check spelling and word forms, including “globalisation” and “increases,” and avoid repeating broad terms without explaining them.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both a complex opening sentence and a more developed structure with “not only … it also,” showing some willingness to vary sentence forms. However, control is inconsistent. For example, “the actions promotes” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “it also increase” should use a matching verb form. The opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “not only it increased … it also increase” does not maintain parallel construction or consistent tense. There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary problems, as in “nations.it.” Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then use complex structures with consistent agreement, tense and punctuation.
