Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that globalisation is beneficial, and you discuss both advantages and disadvantages, including employment, technology, cultural change and pollution. However, the response addresses the task only partially: several points are asserted rather than explained, and the examples do not clearly show how increased interaction between nations benefits people. For instance, the multinational-company example mentions jobs but does not explain the wider effect, while the pollution example is difficult to follow. Your position is also not fully consistent: the introduction refers to critics and a negative effect, but the conclusion calls globalisation positive without resolving the concerns raised. The response is 22 words below the required minimum. Develop fewer ideas with clearer explanations and relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for opposing views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow this basic structure. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, particularly where the discussion moves from social media to international companies and then cultural popularity. Some links are mechanical or imprecise, and the relationship between claims is not always explicit; for example, the pollution sentence does not clearly connect its cause to the claimed benefit. Improve cohesion by grouping related points, using clear references to earlier ideas, and explaining how each example supports its paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “globalization,” “cultural exchange,” “job opportunities,” and “pollution rates,” and you use some less common expressions such as “plethora.” However, the range is limited and frequent spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “econmic,” “exachange,” “benficial,” and “financial satus”; “offer plethora” and “wide range of beneficials” are also unnatural choices. These errors sometimes obscure your intended meaning, especially in the discussion of cultural effects. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, such as “create job opportunities” and “a wide range of benefits,” before trying to use more ambitious vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “who,” and the response is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “globalization has becoming” uses an incorrect verb form, “globalization offer” lacks subject–verb agreement, and “it reduce” has the same agreement problem. The sentence beginning “For instance, most of the multi national companies…” is also structurally unclear, while several sentences begin with lowercase letters after full stops. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add complex clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
