Student answer (Band 6.5)
Availability of resources and technology in recent times allow people to easily connect without any geographical barrier. I believe globalisation has led to more exposure and exchange of skills and has benefitted our society.
Firstly, exposure through various mediums like travelling and social media allows people to connect and learn about the new traditions, culture and language. For example, there are a lot people with high social media presence who regularly share about their customs, tradition, food and language providing exposure to non-native viewers. This helps people become aware of different communities and their life that can help shape perspective and gain knowledge. It can inspire people to visit different countries that promotes tourism which in turn benefits local businesses and help in economic growth of a country. For instance, Korean culture has gained a lot of popularity because of its music and television dramas and has attracted a large number of people who visit the country to experience Korean culture.
Another benefit of globalisation is that it allows exchange of skills and technology which can help advance development and ease day to day human life. For example, India has developed a technology known as UPI Payment which allows people to make a purchase by paying using a QR code scan. The buyer simply has to scan a code and make direct bank payments to sellers without any physical currency exchange. This technology is now being shared to others countries like Germany and France which will promote development and benefit users who do not have to worry about frequent bank visits to withdraw cash. This allows trade relations between countries which is beneficial for citizens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe globalisation benefits society, and you support this with two relevant areas—cultural exposure and the exchange of technology. The examples of Korean entertainment attracting visitors and India’s UPI system help make the discussion concrete. However, the response mainly develops the positive view and does not meaningfully discuss why people might consider increased interaction harmful or explain the opposing perspective in the prompt. Some points also need fuller explanation: for example, the claim that UPI will benefit users in Germany and France is asserted rather than supported with detail. Addressing both sides more explicitly and extending the reasoning behind each example would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, followed by two body paragraphs, each focused on a distinct benefit. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly” and “Another benefit” help readers follow the progression, and examples generally appear alongside the points they support. This meets the expected level of coherent organisation. To make the progression more flexible and fully controlled, add a paragraph or clear contrast that considers the other side of the discussion, and use linking language to show how that perspective relates to your opinion. Some connections are abrupt, particularly the move from UPI to “trade relations between countries.” Also check sentence spacing and paragraph punctuation, as “knowledge. It” interrupts the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “geographical barrier,” “exposure,” “exchange of skills,” “economic growth,” and “trade relations.” These choices communicate the main ideas clearly, and terms such as “customs” and “technology” suit the subject. There are also some imprecise or awkward expressions that limit flexibility and naturalness: “a lot people” and “others countries” are not accurate forms, while “high social media presence” is an unusual way to describe the people in your example. Repetition of “benefit” and “allows” also makes parts of the response less varied. Aim for more precise collocations and vary key verbs, while keeping the language natural rather than overly formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including relative clauses (“who regularly share…”) and a purpose clause (“which allows people to make a purchase…”). Most sentences communicate their meaning, and the longer UPI example shows an attempt to explain a process in detail. Some grammatical errors remain, however. In the opening, “resources and technology… allow” should be “allow” only if both are treated as plural, but the sentence’s phrasing makes the subject agreement unclear; “has benefitted” also needs a clearer subject. Other examples include “a lot people,” “others countries,” and “a purchase by paying using,” which show problems with articles, plurals, and sentence construction. Review agreement and article use, and punctuate sentence boundaries carefully.
