Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays world , where internet is growing so rapidly it has lead to an increase in air travel, trade and popular cultures in the world . And many people believe that this interaction between nations through globalisation is a good thing . I highly agree with this statement that with the help of internet we are able to connect millions of people at a single place making it a global village.

With globalisation we have experienced that it has brought all world on a single platform . We have seen increased interest of people in many sectors from different countries either its tourism , cultural factor or meeting someone.

Today many of the goods and products are exported and imported from different countries. With globalisation the trade is increased and usually thats among the people who have never met each other personally . For example the trade of rice , from asian to middle east countries. Similarly the import of crude oil from different Arab countries have lead an increase in trade.

With internet the people has also encouraged and advertised their popular culture . In result to that , many people from different countries travel to these countries to expereinces these festivals For example the festival of basant which is celebrated by the people of punjab has find global attention . In result people travel from different parts of the world just to become the part of the festival .With this globalisation we are able to expereinces different cultures , meet new people . With this increase in globalisation we can eventually spread love among different nations unite people which is actually a good thing .

In conclusion , with this increase in globalisation we are able to unite people at a single place . Eventually, it has brought people closer than ever.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss the positive view of globalisation and state your own position clearly: “I highly agree,” with the conclusion reinforcing that it brings people closer. Relevant examples include rice and oil trade and the Basant festival attracting visitors. This addresses the task, but the discussion is uneven: trade and cultural exchange receive examples, while the benefits of internet and air travel are mostly asserted rather than explained. Some claims, such as globalisation allowing people to “spread love,” are broad and would be stronger with a specific explanation of how interaction produces this outcome. To develop the response further, explain the effects of each example and consider a counterpoint before showing why you still agree.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The body paragraphs broadly group trade and cultural exchange, and linking expressions such as “For example,” “Similarly” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose: the second body paragraph moves from online promotion to festivals, travel, cultural experience and unity without clearly showing the links between each point. Repeated phrases such as “With globalisation” and “In result” make cohesion feel mechanical, and some references, including “these countries,” are not fully clear. Use more varied transitions and organise each paragraph around one main claim, followed by explanation and an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “exported and imported,” “crude oil,” “popular culture” and “cultural factor.” These choices make the subject clear, and examples such as “global village” show an attempt to use less routine language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “brought all world on a single platform,” “advertised their popular culture” and “become the part of the festival.” Spelling errors such as “expereinces” and “thats” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe cultures as being “promoted” and visitors as “taking part in” a festival.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a relative clause in “the festival of basant which is celebrated…” and a reason-and-result structure in the opening. Meaning is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction are persistent enough to limit control. Examples include “the people has,” “have lead an increase,” and “has find global attention”; these should be “people have,” “have led to an increase,” and “has found global attention.” The opening also contains a long, awkwardly joined sentence, while punctuation spacing and comma use are inconsistent. Practise building accurate complex sentences, then proofread specifically for subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
