Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people argues that, globalization broaden the interactions between different countries through internet, air travel, business and popular culture, which is a positive thing. I am completely agreed with this view.

Firstly, through the internet the information become more accessable. the modern world can not be imagined without internet. This is because, in most of the sector everything became online to keep records of information. As a result it is more convenient and easy to transfer or get access to the record. In addition travelling is also become convenient due to air travel. through air we can go any other countries for different purposes like trade, study. With this facilities students are getting opportunities to get world class education which is valuable for a country to develop. For example, the tendency of going abroad nowadays are increasing due to higher education and better life.

Secondly, Global trend and culture become worldspread due globalization. This is because knowing new trends and culture keeps them updated. These helps to widesparade the business and trade. For example, many world class brand is now become more pupular due to their marketing and advertisement through media and online. Thirdly, the culture of other countryies sometimes imposed people to adopt the culture, their lifestyle, their values and so on. Business and trade are become widespread due to globalization. People can get any products from any country. For example, different online market is available so that people can buy international product.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that the globalization has a great impact for rapid increase of communication between countries through internet, travel, exchanged cultures as well as business.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You clearly state your position—“I am completely agreed with this view”—and give relevant reasons involving access to information, education, trade and cultural exchange. Examples such as students going abroad and international products being available online help connect your points to globalisation. However, the discussion is only partly developed: several claims are broad, and the paragraph about culture shifts between benefits and the idea that cultures are “imposed” without explaining whether this is a disadvantage or how it affects your overall view. The conclusion repeats the main themes rather than drawing together the argument. To strengthen the response, explain each main benefit with a clearer cause-and-effect link and address a possible drawback before reaffirming your opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the broad structure easy to recognise. The ideas are generally relevant, but progression within the body paragraphs is uneven. For example, the second body paragraph moves from cultural trends to business, then to cultures being imposed, and back to trade, so the relationship between these points is not always clear. Some linking phrases, including repeated “This is because” and “For example,” make the organisation feel mechanical. Group related ideas into focused paragraphs, use pronouns with clear references, and add transitions that show whether a point is an example, result or contrast. This would create a more consistent line of development.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “globalisation,” “popular culture,” “higher education,” “marketing” and “international product,” so the main ideas are usually understandable. There are also attempts to express broader concepts, such as “world class education” and “widespread business and trade.” However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations and spellings are inaccurate or repetitive. Examples include “accessable,” “worldspread,” “widesparade,” “pupular,” and “the culture … imposed people.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, while repeated use of “business,” “trade” and “culture” limits precision. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a relative clause in the opening and cause-and-effect structures such as “This is because…” and “As a result…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. For instance, “Many people argues” should use a plural verb, while “the information become” and “travelling is also become” show problems with verb agreement and form. The sentence beginning “the modern world can not be imagined” also starts with an uncapitalised word, and several clauses are joined in ways that make the structure awkward. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and past/present verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly punctuated structure.
