Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, globalisation has increased by internet, air-travl, trade and culture. I believe that it is a positive development because it create jobs, increase economic growth, follow the modern technology and helps in better education. However, it has some disadvantages, such as loss of local business and create environmetal problems.

To begin with, Globalisation has several benefits. First it can provide more job opprtunities in well-developed country. People can find better jobs and improve their living standard. As a result people can get better salaries and fullfill their demands. Secondly, Globalosation allows people to learn about different culture, tradition and different life-style throigh internat and travel. People can get a chance to follow different trend. For example, people in India can enjoy foreign movies, clothes and food also through technology. Moreover, Countries can share new technology, which can improve people's lives. Consequently, globalosation helps in development of overall countries.

However, globalisation has some drawbacks which can not be ignored. One of the major disadvantages is thet local cultue may gradually decreased, because people follow prefer foreign life-style. For instance, young people may wear foreign clothes instead of traditional choices. In addition, increasing of globalisation may also lead to environmental problems. If more international flights and transportation, can increase greenhouse emission. This growning rate of pollution can harmful for environment. But , these problems can be reduced if government support local business and encourage their people to preserve their own culture.

In conclusion, although globalisation can negatively affect environment and local culture, I believe that it has a positive development overall, because it create more jobs, improves technology and increases living standard.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear view: globalisation is positive overall despite effects on local culture and the environment. Relevant reasons include employment, technology, cultural exchange and pollution, with the example of people in India enjoying foreign films, clothes and food. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the job and living-standard points are asserted rather than explained, and the cultural example illustrates access to foreign products more than the wider impact of globalisation. To strengthen the response, explain how a specific benefit affects people or countries, and develop the proposed government measures with a concrete example. Your position is clear, though fuller development would make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. Within paragraphs, however, the progression can feel list-like: “First,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” introduce points without always showing how they connect or develop. Some links are also unclear, as in “If more international flights and transportation, can increase greenhouse emission,” where the relationship between the condition and result is difficult to follow. Build each paragraph around one main idea, then explain and illustrate it before moving on. This would make cohesion less mechanical and improve the flow between claims and examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss globalisation, including “economic growth,” “job opportunities,” “greenhouse emission,” and “preserve their own culture.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “living standard” and “international flights.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, including “air-travl,” “opprtunities,” “Globalosation,” “cultue,” and “growning.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “follow different trend” and “development of overall countries.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although the main meaning remains understandable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases; for example, use “economic development” rather than “development of overall countries.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “although globalisation can negatively affect environment and local culture” and a conditional idea about international transport. Most sentences communicate their main point, but some grammatical errors recur. Subject–verb agreement is inaccurate in “it create jobs” and “globalisation helps” is not consistently maintained; articles and plurals are also missing in phrases such as “improve their living standard” and “different culture.” The conditional sentence beginning “If more international flights…” is incomplete, and the comma after “transportation” disrupts its structure. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review articles, plural nouns and agreement. More accurate complex sentences would demonstrate stronger control.
