Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent decades, globalisation has become increasingly popular around the world, through the advancement technology by internet air travelling, trade and famous customs. Although i strongly believe that this trend would help to develop better relationships between nations.

To commence with, globalisation have significantly positive effect on country. This is because it would improve businesses development and create good relationships with other countries. For example, if a country share their cultures with other country that would be postive way to build connection with each others. As a result, in the future they would able to live together beacuse accaptance of other cultures enables to live together in a same country. Furthermore, government should encourage to the tourists to visit their country. Consequently, they will bring their traditions and share with citiens that could lead to effected trend by encouraging tourists.

In addition, it can also contribute to the economic development. This is because when tourists will travel consistently by airlines that can rapidly improve economy. furthermore, it can also encourage student. When countries create positive relationships they enables student obtain higher education from other country. As a result, students could also play a vital role to the development of society because they will bring diverse cultures and innovations, For instance, if student studied in other country he will acquire knowledge about their country and new ideas to development of country. However, i strongly believe that increasingly interaction among countries have completely positve impact on both nations.

In conclusion, growing globalisation with other nations can bring different customs and help to create good relations. Even though it can also provide opportunity for students to obtain high education and bring new ideas and diverse cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that globalisation is beneficial, and you support it with relevant points about cultural exchange, tourism, economic development and students studying abroad. These examples show an attempt to explain why interaction between nations can be positive. However, the discussion is one-sided: the prompt asks you to discuss the view, but you do not consider any possible disadvantages or explain why people might disagree. Several points are also under-developed or unclear, particularly the claim that tourism improves the economy and the repeated idea that sharing cultures creates good relationships. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example, and make your position explicit throughout rather than relying mainly on the final paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs broadly group related ideas, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “In addition” and “As a result” help signal connections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from business development to cultural acceptance and then tourism without clearly showing how these points relate. Some connectors are repetitive or do not express the relationship accurately, and the conclusion introduces no clear synthesis of the discussion. Use a more deliberate sequence—one central idea per paragraph, followed by explanation and an example—and make references such as “they” and “this” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “economic development,” “higher education,” “diverse cultures” and “innovations,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “globalisation has become increasingly popular,” “businesses development,” “effected trend” and “positive impact on both nations” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors, including “postive,” “beacuse,” “accaptance” and “citiens,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for describing international exchange and its effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning “Although,” “because” and “when,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. For example, “globalisation have” should use a singular verb, while “if a country share” needs agreement; “they would able” is missing a verb form, and “they enables student” has errors in both agreement and number. The opening “Although” clause is also left without a complete main clause. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause, then proofread for subject–verb agreement and missing words.
