Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response gives a broadly positive view of online communication and mentions economic opportunities, cultural awareness and closer connections, so it makes some relevant points about globalisation. However, it only minimally addresses the actual question: globalisation includes travel, trade and popular culture as well as the internet, and the essay does not discuss this wider interaction between nations. Your opinion is only briefly stated, and the supporting examples are unclear or incomplete, such as the reference to travelling to learn about a country’s society. The final paragraph is unfinished, so the disadvantages and conclusion are not meaningfully developed. The response also falls 70 words short of the required minimum. Develop a clear position and explain specific benefits and drawbacks with relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening, a paragraph giving reasons, a brief paragraph acknowledging disadvantages, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “For example,” “Another reason,” and “In conclusion” help signal the intended structure. However, progression is difficult to follow because the discussion shifts from the internet to travel and then to globalisation without clearly linking these ideas. The disadvantages paragraph contains only one incomplete thought, while the conclusion stops mid-sentence. Some linking is mechanical, and the comma splice at the end of the second body paragraph makes the relationship between ideas unclear. Use complete paragraphs with one developed central point each, and connect examples explicitly to the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a small range of topic-related vocabulary, including “economy,” “job opportunity,” “tradition,” “culture,” and “global village,” which shows an attempt to discuss international connections. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with “online” and “internet” carrying much of the discussion. Several spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts harder to understand, including “ntework,” “easyer,” “cuntory,” and “ste back.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “income more from jobs” and “boost global village.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “international trade,” “cultural exchange,” and “employment opportunities” would help address the full topic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason-and-example structure beginning “One possible reason is that…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries frequently affect clarity. For example, “Individuals has get” has incorrect agreement and verb form, while “it help” should use a matching verb form. The opening also contains incomplete or poorly joined sentences, and “although i believe…” is not correctly punctuated or capitalised. The final sentence is unfinished, preventing the conclusion from being understood. Practise building accurate complete sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although” and “for example.” Review subject–verb agreement and punctuation when editing.
