Student answer (Band 5.5)

Internet is one of the fine production of science. We can do anything from anywhere of the world just by using internet.Internet has made things very easier for us.

Globalisation is increasing rapidly all over the world. If we want to buy something form other brand which is not in our country but we can order it from their website just by using internet. For instance,i have ordered many things and it arrives at my house through cargo.Through internet, people are recognizing each other cultures.I have some social friends which i have made through some games and we are at a good terms. We respect each other cultures and also celebrate with each other. Before that,i dont know that much about popular culture.Internet has made air travel much beneficial than before. When there is no internet, people have to wait in lines to get the ticket for the travel and the facilities were very limited there. Now,people can buy ticket just by searching the website whether it is etihad, turkish or saudi airlines. They just have to select a date and they can make the online payment. To illustrate,my parents wanted to perform umrah and i dont want them to struggle in massive lines as they are older.I just opened the website of saudi airlines and bought thier ticket and have done online payment throught my father's bank.

From my perspective,it is a good thing that people from different nations are interacting with one another.People get to know about each other cultures.Additonally, they also get to know about each other religion and they respect it.All things considered, internet has made the life of people a lot easier.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the topic and give a clear positive opinion, especially in the final paragraph. Your examples about ordering goods online, making international friendships through games, and booking your parents’ Umrah travel are relevant and help explain how globalisation affects everyday life. However, the discussion focuses mainly on the internet, while the prompt also highlights broader interaction through trade, air travel and popular culture. Some points are asserted rather than fully explained—for example, you say people learn about and respect other religions, but do not show how this benefits nations or acknowledge any possible drawbacks. Develop the examples further and make the discussion of the view more balanced and explicit to strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable progression: it introduces the internet, gives examples of global connections, and ends with your opinion. The examples also provide some internal organisation. However, most of the discussion is presented in one long paragraph, so the shifts from online shopping to friendships and then air travel are not clearly signposted. Linking phrases such as “For instance,” “Additionally,” and “All things considered” help, but some connections feel mechanical, and “Before that” has an unclear reference. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, main points and conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one central idea with clear links between examples and the overall argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your examples, including “globalisation,” “popular culture,” “online payment,” and “interacting with one another.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “massive lines” and “perform umrah.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, including “fine production of science,” “social friends,” and “at a good terms.” Spelling and word-form slips such as “Additonally” and “thier” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; a wider range of precise expressions would make the argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If we want to buy something … we can order it” and a longer sentence explaining how you booked the tickets. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include missing or incorrect articles and plurals in “each other cultures,” tense inconsistency in “i dont know,” and agreement or verb-form problems in “it arrives at my house” after referring to “many things.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, as several sentences run together without spaces after full stops. Practise accurate articles, possessives and tense consistency, and divide long sentences into clearer units while retaining some complex structures.
