Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both benefits and drawbacks, and your examples—such as overseas study, business opportunities, cultural influence on young people, and pollution from air travel—are relevant to globalisation. However, the task asks you to discuss whether increased interaction between nations is a good thing and give your own opinion. Your position is only partly clear: the conclusion says globalisation is good, but then adds that it should not “distract human life,” without explaining how you weigh its benefits against its harms. Several points are also asserted rather than developed, particularly the effect of multinational companies on small businesses and the claim about young people’s mental health. State your view clearly and explain a few key points with specific reasoning or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, “globalisation of internet has bought easy acess” leads into travel and then overseas study without clearly showing how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “first and foremost,” “in addition,” and “however” are useful, but the conclusion becomes a list of effects rather than a synthesis of the argument. Some references are also difficult to follow, as in “it also causes environmental damage” after several different ideas. Organise each paragraph around one main point and use clearer links and references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “economic growth,” “multinational companies,” “ecosystem,” and “air travel,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “adapting foreign culture” and “enlargment of business” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “effects the where” is unclear. Spelling errors such as “foregien,” “oppertunities,” and “enviromental” are noticeable throughout. Aim to use precise, familiar expressions accurately before attempting more ambitious wording, and proofread spelling and word forms. More accurate topic vocabulary would make your points clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “which” and “when,” but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas hard to follow. Subject–verb agreement is a recurring issue: “These interaction … has” and “it promote” need plural and singular forms respectively. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention; the opening of the advantages paragraph joins several independent ideas with commas, while “However, their are some disadvantages also like…” is not well formed. Articles, verb forms, and clause structure are also inconsistent, as in “it uses should be applied.” Practise building clear sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed supporting clause, then check agreement and punctuation.
