Student answer (Band 5.0)

Globalisation has seen sudden rise in recent years because of the internet, air travel, trade and popular culture. It has good factors as well as some improvement which needs to be addressed.

Globalisation has increased interactions between people of different countries. This as result provide them chance to share their thoughts and experiences, as a result a path to great inventions is being laid. Now a days, many countries are working together on scientific research projects together more easily than ever before. It would be no lie to praise such connectivity.

Another good thing about one World concept is it made people more closer to each other. People has grown better sense of understanding about each other all over the world. For example, we hear news of different country natives marrying each other very commonly. Reaseachers has predicted this may create a new way of harmony among two nations via such bonds that could lead world peace.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both benefits and drawbacks of globalisation, including international research, cultural understanding, pressure on local businesses and online scams. However, the task asks you to discuss the view that increased interaction is a good thing and give your own opinion; your position is only implied, and the conclusion is cut off before it clearly states your judgement. Several ideas are asserted rather than explained—for example, international marriages are said to promote harmony, but the link is not developed. The response also contains 241 words, so it is 9 words below the required minimum; the 8 words copied from the prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, state your view directly and develop each main point with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs on benefits and drawbacks, and an attempted conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main areas of discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking phrases are repetitive or awkward. For instance, “as a result” appears twice in close succession, while “Meanwhile” introduces the drawbacks without a clear transition from the benefits. Some references are also difficult to follow, such as “this” in “This as result provide them chance,” where the exact idea being referred to is unclear. The final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the ending. Use clearer topic sentences, vary linking devices, and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “scientific research projects,” “local markets,” “foreign traders,” and “cyber forces.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both international cooperation and its risks. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “one World concept,” “more closer,” “cone people,” and “reachto the world”; “Reaseachers,” “Scamers,” and “wold” are also misspelled. Some phrases, such as “It would be no lie to praise such connectivity,” sound unnatural in an academic essay. Aim for precise, conventional expressions and proofread spelling and spacing so your ideas are communicated more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “due to which.” However, errors are frequent, and some sentence structures make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “This as result provide them chance” has problems with sentence construction, verb agreement and missing articles, while “People has grown better sense” contains agreement and article errors. The sentence beginning “Reaseachers has predicted” also has a subject–verb agreement error, and the final sentence is incomplete. To improve, practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, check singular and plural agreement, and use articles consistently. Shorter, accurate sentences would help before you attempt more complex structures.
