Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss benefits of international interaction, especially trade, tourism, student opportunities and communication, and your conclusion indicates that you support globalisation. The wool-export example and the reference to visitors in northern Pakistan give the response some relevant support. However, the task asks you to discuss the view as well as give your own opinion, and the essay presents almost exclusively advantages; it does not consider a counterargument or explain the limits of the view. Your position is also not consistently clear in the introduction, where the wording about what people argue is difficult to interpret. Several points, such as student career advancement and a sense of community, are asserted rather than explained. Develop a clear position and extend each main idea with a specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and it groups related benefits together: trade and student opportunities appear before tourism and international community. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “To illustrate this,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are joined without clear explanation, and some transitions feel mechanical. For example, the move from exporting wool to students’ visas is abrupt, while the tourism example and the claim about fostering community are not clearly connected. The introduction and conclusion also contain unclear phrasing that weakens the overall line of argument. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s focus and make the relationship between each example and its claim explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related and formal vocabulary, including “globalization,” “international trading,” “economic growth,” “tourism revenue,” and “job opportunities.” This gives you some useful language for discussing the topic. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “Proponent of in favor,” “attributably focus,” “directly proprtional,” and “career advacement.” Some formal phrases, such as “a pivotal factor” and “carries a significant weight,” are repeated or do not fit naturally in context. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding formal-sounding expressions. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations such as “boost the economy,” “create job opportunities,” and “promote cultural exchange.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, including “A case in this point is that…” and “A pivotal factor is that…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation frequently interrupt the reader. For example, “the increasing rate … between nation play” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an incorrect singular noun; “it facilitate” and “it stimulate” also need agreement. The opening sentence is missing an article before “contentious issue,” and the conclusion contains fragments, including “although witness of the advantages of this view.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “Overall,.” Practise building accurate complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
