Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response attempts to discuss globalisation and gives a personal view, especially in the final paragraph, where you say the internet is important and helpful in your life. However, the discussion is only minimally developed: most of the response focuses on internet use rather than explaining whether increased interaction between nations is beneficial, and the opposing view is difficult to understand. The examples about office work, schoolwork and research are relevant to internet use but do not clearly show the effects of globalisation between countries. The response also ends mid-sentence, leaving the opinion and supporting ideas incomplete. It contains 196 words, below the required 250; 23 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To improve, address both sides directly and explain each point with a clear, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: it begins with an introduction, uses “On the hand” and “Secondly” to signal points, and includes a separate paragraph for your opinion. However, the ideas do not progress clearly from one point to the next. The second body paragraph repeats the claim about the internet and globalisation without making the opposing argument understandable, while the first paragraph combines several examples in one long sequence. Repeated use of “the internet” and “use” also makes connections mechanical, and the final sentence stops before the thought is complete. Use one paragraph for each main viewpoint, begin each with a clear topic sentence, and connect explanations and examples with precise referencing rather than repetition.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

Your vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with “internet,” “use,” and “important” appearing repeatedly. Some relevant topic words are present, including “globalisation,” “air travel,” “trading,” and “researching,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, spelling errors such as “repidly,” “cluture,” “wacthing,” and “usefull” are frequent, and several word choices or forms make meaning difficult, as in “the internet use the globalisation” and “the internet not useing each other.” Aim to use a small range of accurate topic vocabulary and collocations, such as “connect people across countries,” “international trade,” and “access information.” Proofread spelling and choose words that express the intended relationship between the internet and globalisation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic linking structures, including “For example” and “so that,” but most sentence patterns are simple or incomplete, and grammatical errors often obscure the intended meaning. For instance, “The internet use every person” lacks a correct verb form, while “I am useing the interent for the trading” has problems with verb construction and article use. The opening “A few years” is also an incomplete time expression, and the final sentence ends without a completed clause. Practise forming clear subject–verb sentences first, then combine related ideas using accurate clauses. Check verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries, and make sure every sentence is complete before adding further detail.
