Student answer (Band 5.5)

The unparalled significance of internet can not be refuted because it has close relevance to our lives. There are two dimensions of the topic or to be clearer, Here are two different point of views, globalisation has increased due to the internet. Several people opine that this interaction is a good thing while other group totally disagrees with it.

Globalisation has many advantages due to the advancement in internet. People can connect to other people, living all across the globe. They can talk to each other via many video apps. In addition to that, internet has enabled us to see their traditions, events, and festivals and enjoy it. For instance, we are now able to see the worldwide Christmas celebrations, cricket matches and even olympics that is happening in another continent. Some people even visits these countries to enjoy their events. Internet has made it easier to interact with diverse people.

On the contrary, it has many disadvantages like some individuals believed that it is ruining the cultures. People are now quickly adapting to other cultures and traditions like many people are now creating bridgeten gowns that are the part of England's culture not South Asian. Moreover, peoples likeliness has been changing, they are now more inclined towards different cultures food like Chinese food, it jas become a indespensible kind of thing to eat dinner without the Kimchi or taobokki. Individuals are more likely to adopt others people's culture and traditions as compared to their own.

Above discussion induce me to reach a verdict that, globalisation is a great way to boost the economies as well as knowing other people's cultures and values. However, it is creating a sense of competition among people to be on the first place in adopting the new tradition.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both the benefits and drawbacks of globalisation and give a clear overall view in the conclusion: you call it “a great way” to support economies and learn about other cultures, while acknowledging competition to adopt new traditions. The examples of watching international celebrations and trying foods such as kimchi help make the discussion relevant. However, the response does not fully develop the task’s focus on increased interaction between nations: several points concern internet use or cultural adoption without explaining how these affect countries more broadly. The economic benefit is asserted in the conclusion but not supported in the body. Develop fewer points in more depth, and explain the consequences of each example to make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a contrasting paragraph on disadvantages, and a concluding opinion. Transitions such as “In addition to that” and “On the contrary” help signal the direction of the discussion. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, however. The opening repeats the idea of two viewpoints, and “There are two dimensions of the topic” does not clearly lead into the argument. Within the body paragraphs, examples sometimes follow one another without showing how they support the main point, and the conclusion introduces economic benefits that were not developed earlier. Use clearer topic sentences and link each example explicitly to the paragraph’s central claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “diverse,” “traditions,” “cultures,” and “competition,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “reach a verdict.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “unparalled significance,” “creating bridgeten gowns,” and “people’s likeliness.” Spelling errors such as “indespensible” and “taobokki” also reduce precision. Some phrases, including “a great way to boost the economies,” are broad rather than specific. Check spelling carefully and choose familiar, accurate collocations; more precise wording will make your points easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “while,” and “as compared to.” Most of the message remains understandable, but errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “Several people opine … while other group totally disagrees” has a number and article problem, and “Some people even visits” has subject–verb disagreement. The sentence beginning “There are two dimensions of the topic or to be clearer” is also awkwardly joined and punctuated. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct singular or plural forms, and appropriate articles. Aim to make complex sentences accurate before adding further complexity.
