Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagram illustrate that how a machine handle employs, and how the point which connect the arm function in the equal way as like a human arm.

Overall,a machine have several part which allow for working. It can be seen three motor and one the computer which controlled all machine process. However, the alternative end effectors such as spray paint\drill holes\weld metal.

In detail, the first and main part which manage all over machine part known as computer. However,it control the three motor. The first motor have to dominent on gripper which built sensors control force.Furthermore, wrist which allow the gripper to rotate and move easily.

On the other hand, the second one also enforce on elbow which give permission to movement or flexibility. In addition, pivot enables the arm to rotate easily and also have a shoulder which can the mechanical body to upward and downward. In contrast, base usually stationary movable.Alternative end-effectors which have spray paint ,and drill which is used for holes, weld metal which is usually for bind the two metal.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant components, including the computer, motors, gripper, wrist, elbow, pivot, shoulder, base and alternative tools. The overview also recognises that the computer controls the motors and that the arm has different end-effectors. However, the account is only partly accurate: it says the first motor controls the gripper and the second controls the elbow, whereas the diagram links the left motor to the elbow and the right motor to the gripper. The relationship between the computer, three motors and the arm’s joints is not explained clearly, and the comparison with a human arm is mentioned only in the opening. Develop a clearer overview of how the arm is controlled and describe the main joints and their functions accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an opening, an overview and a more detailed section, so there is some paragraph-level organisation. It also attempts to guide the reader with phrases such as “Overall,” “In detail” and “On the other hand.” However, the progression is difficult to follow because components are introduced in an unclear order and some links between them are missing. For example, the motor connections are described inconsistently, and “However” is used where no contrast is established. The final sentence combines the base and alternative tools without a clear transition. Organise the description from the computer and motors to the arm’s joints, then finish with the base and alternative end-effectors; use linking words only when their logical relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant technical vocabulary, including “gripper,” “wrist,” “pivot,” “shoulder” and “end-effectors,” which helps identify the diagram’s parts. There are also attempts to describe function, such as “enables the arm to rotate” and “control force.” However, several word choices and collocations make the meaning unclear: “machine handle employs,” “domin ent on gripper,” “enforce on elbow” and “bind the two metal” do not express the intended functions naturally. Some terms are also repeated rather than varied. Aim for precise verbs such as “controls,” “connects to,” “allows” and “raises or lowers,” and check spelling and word forms. More accurate phrasing would make your technical vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and agreement appear in examples such as “The diagram illustrate,” “a machine have several part,” and “it control the three motor.” Articles and sentence boundaries are also problematic: “the first and main part which manage all over machine part known as computer” is not a complete, well-formed sentence, while commas are often attached directly to the following word. These errors sometimes make relationships between parts difficult to understand. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement, articles and punctuation. Shorter, accurate sentences would help communicate the diagram’s functions.
