IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how a mechanical arm works, and how the joints that make up the arm function in the same way as those in a human arm. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The image illustrate the fonctationality of an automatic mechanic arm compared with a human arm.

Generally, we can see that the robotic arm acquires a lot of components to make it fonctional against the human arm.

For the robotic arm, we firstly need a computer intervention to commande all the fonctionalities also to control them. Then we have the motors which recieved the instruction from the computer to tranfer it to the different component of the arm for making the robotic moving and executing the work. The component are : a stationary base, a pivot for the rotation, an elbow to assure the flexibilities, the gripper, the wrist and the shoulder. Those are designed to assure safety and stability of the robot.

For the traditionnal instrument which need a human arm, the design is quite simple with no complicated features. The operator is only need to put all the safety equipment properly and turn on the machine. He guides his own movement and stabilise the work plan by his self.
