IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how a mechanical arm works, and how the joints that make up the arm function in the same way as those in a human arm. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
As the human invented technology, there are many similarities in a human structure and some machine structure. Today, we have a mechanical arm that at some points looks and works like a human arm.
It was made to do the things that are quite hard for a human's arm to do. That's why ut was made by keeping the human's arm structure in mind. For example, it has a gripper instead of a hand to hold anything that has a built-in sensors control force ,a pivot to rotate the arm and a shoulder to raise or lower the arm.
In addition to these it also has a wrist that allows gripper to flex or rotate and an elbow that allows movement and gives flexibility. And likewise a human body, it also has a brain to control it that is called computer system with the help of motors.
In conclusion, there is possibly no better structure than a human body and most of the technology is based on it.
