The diagram below shows how a mechanical arm works, and how the joints that make up the arm function in the same way as those in a human arm. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The image demonstretes the process behind the making of robotic arm, also the how a robotic arm is able to function like an actual human arm.

Overall the arm can be divided into multiple parts, such as the base, the elbow and the gripper which is located at the other end of the arm.There are multiple computarized motors being installed in various part of the mechanical arm for diffrent purposes.the arm comes with a base attached to it aswell which holds the weight of the entire arm.

To hold the structure of the arm a base is created which is usually stationary and is rarely moved furthermore a motor is attached to it .The second part of the arm which allows mobility and flexibiltiy so that the arm can be moved in particular way.The third part is the gripper in which a motor is attached to it aswell so it can rotate along with a sensor which controlls the force of the grip allowing it to function like an human arm.There are alternative attachments for the alarm aswell which allows the robot to perform specific tasks such as drilling and welding metal too
