IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how a mechanical arm works, and how the joints that make up the arm function in the same way as those in a human arm. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

furthermore after all process these are ready for dispech accord to the demand.

The given diagram illustrate thats how mechanical arm works and acts like similar to the human arm.

overall there are 5 step total which in the diagram, that emunates how human mechanical arm is prepared.

In first step personal computer connet with the three different motors. These motors are connected in different areas for the movement and for the flexibility. first motor is connected on the shoulder for raises & lower arm and the second one motor attache on the elbow of the arm for their movement and it work freely. The third motor connected with a hand like structure or a gripper which has sensor control force and with this hand like structure a rod like structure is also attached to it which known as wrist who allow gripper to flex and rotate at last their is a base for support

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the diagram as a mechanical arm and mention several relevant parts, including the motors, shoulder, elbow, wrist, gripper and base. However, the account only partially reports how the system works: it does not clearly explain the arm’s overall arrangement or the functions of the pivot and alternative end-effectors, such as spraying, drilling and welding. Some details are also misassigned: the first motor is not shown connected to the shoulder, and the second is not connected to the elbow; the diagram links motors to the elbow, wrist area and gripper. The overview that there are “5 step[s]” is not supported, as this is a labelled component diagram rather than a sequence of stages. A more accurate overview and clearer reporting of the main functions would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic overall shape: it introduces the diagram, gives an overview, and then describes components. This provides some organisation, but the progression is difficult to follow because the description moves between the motors, shoulder, elbow, gripper, wrist and base without a clear spatial or functional order. The opening fragment, “furthermore after all process,” is disconnected from the rest, and the final sentence ends abruptly without covering the alternative tools. Linking words such as “first,” “second” and “at last” are attempted, but they imply a sequence that the diagram does not show. Organise the report from the base upwards, then describe the motor controls and interchangeable end-effectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “mechanical arm,” “motors,” “flexibility,” “gripper,” “sensor” and “base,” so the reader can recognise the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description harder to understand, such as “dispech accord to the demand,” “emunates,” “attache” and “hand like structure.” Some phrases are imprecise: “a rod like structure” does not clearly identify the wrist, while “work freely” does not convey the elbow’s stated function. Aim for accurate component names and natural technical collocations, for example “is connected to,” “allows rotation,” and “interchangeable end-effectors.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise verbs would make the information clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “The given diagram illustrate” has subject–verb disagreement, while “thats how mechanical arm works” is missing appropriate punctuation and articles. In “the second one motor attache on the elbow,” the noun phrase and verb construction are incomplete; later, “which known as wrist who allow gripper” also lacks a verb and has unclear relative-clause agreement. Several ideas are joined into one long sentence with little punctuation, especially the description of the gripper, wrist and base. Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, check articles and agreement, and separate each component’s function with full stops or semicolons.
