Student answer (Band 5.0)

Concern for the environment is growing rapidly and more and more people are choosing to be 'eco-tourists' - travelling in responsible, environmentally-friendly ways.

Traveling is a very interesting thing a person can do to look how beautiful the world is,

So keeping environment safe while exploring it is a very good thing and showing concern towars the environment is each and every person's duty as a human being as we are living in this world it is our responsibility to make sure our environment is safe and secure.

Eco tourists are making a great impact on other people who do not care about the environment and they are creating a very good impact on the upcoming generation or the young people around us

The way of travelling while keeping all the things in mind about not disturbing the nature or environment and try not to harm them in any possible way should be each and everyone in this world not only for the eco friendly tourist's but every individual in world should try to keep environment safe and should be concerned about it and always try to focus on what we can do to keep it safe and how to bring awareness about these things for next generations and also explaining them they it is our duty to keep our environment safe so that As a result the eco- tourism can expand more as we can see it has already started to expand in all best possible ways that can later help in a good environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You take a positive position, describing eco-tourism as a way to protect nature and influence other people and younger generations. These points are relevant, but they are mostly asserted rather than explained with specific reasons or examples, and the response does not explore any qualification or possible drawback. The final sentence says expansion can lead to “a good environment,” but the link between tourism and this outcome is unclear. The response also falls short of the required 250 words: 233 words were counted, and 24 words copied from the task prompt were excluded. To strengthen the response, develop two clear reasons with concrete examples and explain how each supports your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable progression from the value of travel, to eco-tourists’ influence, and then to a broader call for everyone to protect the environment. However, the ideas are not clearly separated into paragraphs, and the second and third sections contain very long sentences that make the argument difficult to follow. Connections are also sometimes unclear: for example, the final clause beginning “so that As a result” does not show a clear relationship between the preceding point and the conclusion. Repeated references to keeping the environment safe do not create much development. Use distinct paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and connect each point with clear, accurate transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “eco-tourists,” “environmentally-friendly,” “upcoming generation,” and “bring awareness.” This gives the response enough topic-specific language to communicate its general message. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, especially repeated use of “safe” and “good impact.” Some collocations are unnatural, such as “look how beautiful the world is” and “in all best possible ways,” while “towars” is misspelled. Aim for more precise environmental and tourism vocabulary, and check spelling and natural word combinations. For instance, describing how tourism “raises awareness” or “reduces environmental harm” would express your ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to express connected and complex ideas, particularly through clauses beginning “while” and “as we are living in this world.” However, the response relies heavily on long, loosely joined sentences, and these attempts often contain errors that make relationships between ideas hard to follow. For example, “Traveling is a very interesting thing a person can do to look how beautiful the world is” has an unclear clause structure, and the final sentence combines several ideas without clear sentence boundaries. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “so that As a result.” Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas using accurate subordinate clauses and punctuation.
