Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's contemporary world, the people who tends to travel stir up considerable anxiety towards the environment and are opting to travel as a 'eco-tourist' which means to travel responsibly in an environmental-friendly way, this leads to the rise of eco-tourism as market. I completely agree with this statement and this essay will focus the agreement.
To begin with, the primary benefit of the expansion of eco-tourism lies in its capacity to protect natural ecosystems. unlike traditional mass tourism, which often results in habitat destruction and unchecked resources depletion, eco-tourism emphasizes minimal impact on the place. Moreover, the financial returns generated with the help of eco-tourism are reinvested into wildlife, national parks and horticulture. For example countries like Salvador are establishing initiations regarding preservation of jungles by launching occasional forest tour.
Furthermore, it provides socio-economic empowerment to the locals. I helps in generating jobs in various sector and provides vast opportunities for the public. This fills the gap which was earlier stagnant and enables a mutually beneficial cycle for both the travelers and locals. Finally, it will help the local to understand the importance of clean and health society.
To conclude, I firmly believe that the benefits of eco-tourism outweighs its drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position on the positive nature of eco-tourism. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of the arguments. While the ideas regarding environmental protection and socio-economic empowerment are relevant, they are underdeveloped due to the brevity of the response. To reach a higher band, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific, well-developed examples. The current length prevents a full development of the topic, resulting in a lower score for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore'. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the transitions between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'I helps in generating jobs', where the pronoun usage is incorrect. Paragraphing is present, but the overall structure feels truncated due to the lack of sufficient content. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally will help improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary world', 'natural ecosystems', and 'socio-economic empowerment'. However, there are several word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'stir up considerable anxiety towards the environment' (which conveys the opposite of the intended meaning) and 'launching occasional forest tour'. Additionally, there are minor grammatical slips in word forms, such as 'environmental-friendly' instead of 'environmentally friendly'. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary to express complex ideas with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the people who tends to travel'), missing articles ('like Salvador'), and pronoun errors ('I helps in generating jobs'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage in complex sentences. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentence structures are grammatically sound.
