Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, many people are choosing their profession as eco-tourists. It has many benefits to the country. If people are choosing to be an eco-tourist in their own country, they can make their country a better place to visit by the tourist by improving the infrastructure of the places and also by giving better service can attract more people. I consider this as a positive trend.
To begin with, in a country many people are choosing their profession as eco-tourists for making their country more beautiful and to attract more tourists to visit then country. This can improve the countries economic growth and make the country more friendly to the tourists to visit the more than once. For example, in Germany there are many people who are working as eco-tourists, by this work the country has well developed and the tourist places are also been developed, this is mainly by the help of the people who work as the eco-tourists.
Furthermore, recent years many countries has developed there tourist place and placed more workers in that place. In this way they can make the country as a huge tourist place. This involve giving better service, improving the infrastructure and providing better foods and hotels. For instance, in Japan there government has developed most of the tourists place and become the good place to visit as a huge tourist place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that eco-tourism is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is limited. The student fundamentally misunderstands the term 'eco-tourist,' repeatedly referring to it as a 'profession' or a 'job,' which is factually incorrect. This misinterpretation significantly impacts the quality of the arguments provided. While the essay attempts to link eco-tourism to infrastructure and economic growth, the examples provided (Germany and Japan) are generic and lack specific detail regarding how these countries specifically utilize eco-tourism principles. The response remains somewhat repetitive in its reasoning, failing to explore the environmental benefits, which is the core of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. While some linking words like 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are applied in a mechanical way. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'this is mainly by the help of the people who work as the eco-tourists,' which lacks a clear antecedent. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making the overall argument feel somewhat simplistic and repetitive.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is quite limited and repetitive. The student relies heavily on basic terms like 'tourist,' 'place,' 'country,' and 'better.' There is a persistent misuse of the term 'eco-tourist,' which is used as a synonym for a tourism industry worker or a government official, rather than a traveler who visits natural areas responsibly. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'choosing their profession as eco-tourists' and 'developed there tourist place' (should be 'their'). The lack of variety in vocabulary prevents the essay from achieving a higher score, as the language does not demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies primarily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('there government has developed,' 'most of the country are developing') and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequent errors in basic grammar—such as 'tourist places are also been developed'—distract the reader. The range of structures is limited, and the frequency of errors is high enough to occasionally impede the clarity of the intended meaning.
