Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays many people are concern for the environment and more people choose to be eco-tourists which results in expanding of eco-tourism industry. I believe that it is a positive trend with having far more positive impacts than drawbacks.
In today's advanced world where factories are expanding, latest innovation like artificial intelligence and more private vehicles are causing adverse effect on the environment's sustainability. In that crucial time eco-tourists are playing a significant role.
First of all, the most significant advantage is environment protection. This is attributed to responsible travelling such as wildlife viewing and birdwatching, guided nature hikes and trekking and low-impact water sports as all of this play a pivot role in protecting the fragile ecological zones. The natural resources are conserved in order to protect them. The core principles are low impact on the environment such as reducing waste, energy use, and harm to nature. Supporting local jobs and community-owned businesses will improve the growth of local economy. Learning to respect wildlife, plants, and local traditions help in preserving local identity. Consequently, environment is also preserved for the next generations.
Another important benefit of eco-tourism industry is it helps in reducing destruction of natural habitats of the endangered animal species. As a result, animals can live peacefully. This will benefit to reduce the number of rising extinction of many animal species.
Although eco-tourism industry is expanding but there is still need of awareness of eco-tourist concept in society. We need to understand the concept of one health hub. It contends that humans, animals and environment are interconnected with each other. That's why we must take preventive measures to protect it.
In conclusion, eco-tourism has many profound long-term impact on our society. Thus, we should advocate it and raise awareness regarding it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that eco-tourism is a positive trend. The ideas are relevant, covering environmental protection and economic benefits. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph provides a good list of benefits, the second paragraph regarding habitat destruction is quite brief and repetitive of the first. The final paragraph introduces a new concept, 'one health hub,' which is not fully integrated or explained in relation to the main argument. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on extending each main idea with more specific examples or deeper analysis rather than listing multiple points briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all,' 'Consequently,' and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition to the 'one health hub' concept in the penultimate paragraph is abrupt and lacks a clear link to the previous argument about eco-tourism. Improving the use of referencing and more sophisticated linking words would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey ideas, including terms like 'sustainability,' 'fragile ecological zones,' and 'interconnected.' There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'expanding of eco-tourism industry' (should be 'the expansion of the eco-tourism industry') and 'benefit to reduce' (should be 'help to reduce'). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. The student should focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing to improve the sophistication of their writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'many people are concern' (should be 'concerned'), 'latest innovation' (should be 'latest innovations'), and 'there is still need of awareness' (should be 'there is still a need for awareness'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately to improve their control over grammar.
