Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the positive trend of eco-tourism, but the development is inconsistent. While you identify some advantages and disadvantages, the ideas are presented in a list format rather than a cohesive essay structure. The argument lacks depth; for instance, the points about 'fresh water' and 'clean roads' are asserted without explanation or connection to the tourism industry. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence is anecdotal and lacks the necessary academic rigor expected for Task 2. To improve, you should focus on developing your arguments into full paragraphs with clear topic sentences and supporting examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a standard academic structure, relying on bullet points and fragmented sections rather than paragraphs. There is no clear introduction or conclusion, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are largely absent; the transition between the discussion of India and the global perspective is abrupt. The use of referencing is also weak, making it difficult for the reader to track the argument. To achieve a higher score, you must organize your response into a clear introduction, body paragraphs with logical flow, and a summary conclusion, using linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', and 'however' to connect your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'good', and 'bad', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the effect was wrong' and 'there are very less disadvantages'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and precision prevents a higher score. You should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues and tourism, such as 'sustainability', 'carbon footprint', 'conservation', and 'economic viability', to demonstrate a wider range of language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'tourist are demanding'), sentence fragments, and incorrect article usage. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capitalization and list formatting. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice using complex structures like relative clauses and conditional sentences to add variety to your writing.
