Student answer (Band 5.5)
People nowadays, have become very enthusiastic about eco-tourism, so they want to travel in responsible and environment-friendly ways. As a result the eco-friendly tourism is growing rapidly. I think, it is a positive trend that people are becoming more concern about environmental- friendly travel ways, because conventional travel causes a lot of harm to the environment.
People who support eco-tourism, argue that greener solutions should be adopted to minimize the adverse effect of travel. In conventional travel system, fossil fuels are burnt to produce energy and which eventually moves the vehicle. A lot of carbon is emitted in this way in the environment along with other gases that causes green house effect, acid rain, smog creation and so many other disasters that have the potential to disbalance the harmony of the environment.
On the other hand, scientists are trying to invent new ways to replace the conventional transportation system with more efficient and environment friendly solutions that will left less carbon footprint in the environment. Though the new eco solutions like hydrogen trains and solar planes are initially expensive than the conventional ones, it causes less harm to the environment by emitting less pollutants. Government should come forward to embrace these new green technologies and encourage people to use these transportations. People are becoming more environment concious that the past, which is a very positive sign towards greener future.
In conclusion. environment friendly tourism should expand more, so that the environment can get relieved from the adverse effects of the transportation industry and its pollution. Though the current eco-friendly solutions are comparatively expensive, with time and mass production, the expense will go down as well as the environment pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating that eco-tourism is a positive trend. The ideas are relevant, focusing on the environmental impact of conventional travel versus the potential of green technology. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention the benefits of eco-tourism, the essay focuses heavily on transportation technology rather than the broader concept of 'eco-tourism' (which includes accommodation, local community impact, and conservation). To reach a higher band, you should expand on how these travel choices specifically benefit destinations or local ecosystems, rather than just discussing vehicle emissions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the problem (conventional travel) to the solution (green technology) and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow could be smoother, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between fossil fuels and the environment could be more tightly connected to the main topic of tourism.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'adverse effect', 'carbon footprint', and 'disbalance'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'disbalance the harmony' (should be 'disturb the balance') and 'environment concious that the past' (should be 'more environmentally conscious than in the past'). These errors do not impede communication, but they prevent the use of vocabulary from being considered 'flexible' or 'precise' at a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'it causes less harm' (should be 'they cause' to agree with 'solutions'), 'that will left' (should be 'will leave'), and 'initially expensive than' (should be 'more expensive than'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors rarely impede the reader's understanding, they occur frequently enough to limit the score to a 6.0.
