Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 82 words. Because the essay is incomplete, it fails to address the prompt fully. The introduction sets up a position, but the body paragraph is cut off before any meaningful development or conclusion can be reached. According to the IELTS criteria, a response that is severely under-length cannot be awarded a score higher than Band 4.0 for Task Achievement, as the ideas are not developed and the task is not completed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows an attempt at logical organization with an introduction and a body paragraph. However, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall progression or the use of cohesive devices in a full-length essay. The use of 'To begin with' is a standard cohesive device, but the lack of further development means the paragraphing is insufficient. The text is too brief to demonstrate a range of cohesive devices or effective paragraph management.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the topic, such as 'environmental conservation', 'sustainable', and 'eco-tourism industry'. However, there are some minor errors, such as 'awareness for' instead of 'awareness of' and the awkward phrasing 'other things which can spoil the environment'. The range is limited due to the brevity of the response, preventing the demonstration of more sophisticated or precise lexical items. It is sufficient for basic communication but lacks the range required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are several grammatical errors in this short text. For example, the second sentence is a fragment ('Encouraging a growing number...'), and the third sentence contains a tense error ('This essay will discussed' should be 'will discuss'). While there is an attempt at complex structures, the errors are frequent relative to the length of the text. The punctuation is generally acceptable, but the grammatical control is inconsistent, which limits the score.
