Student answer (Band 6.0)
Concerns for the environment are increasing rapidly, in response to which more and more people have opted to become eco-tourists. As a result eco-tourism industry is growing.
I personally believe that, it is a very positive initiative to conserve the environment and sustain the well-being of the local people.
Although if we live in the city, but the places we visit occasionally have an impact on our lives. The way we people as tourists, treat those destinations have consequences on the environment. For example if we keep on throwing the garbage in the lakes or rivers, it will pollute the water which be a cause for the acid rain. And it will disturb the eco-system. Glaciers will melt causing the floods. So we need to find the ways to become eco-tourist. We need to educate ourselves as well as the local to preserve the nature. We should keep the area clean. That fresh water should be utilized as an energy source.
In addition to this, People from city starts business in the natural areas to earn more profit. They runs the hoteling business, transport services, which can effect the earning of the locals. To prevent such situations we should promote the local cuisines, local transport and hotels, so they can earn as well. To maintain the nature's cycle we should not disturb the wild life. Hunting should be ban to avoid the extinction of animals.
I strongly admit that if we follow such positive steps we can play a vital role in developing an eco-friendly environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that eco-tourism is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention environmental impacts like pollution and flooding, the connection to 'eco-tourism' specifically is occasionally lost, shifting instead to general environmental advice. The second body paragraph attempts to discuss the economic impact on locals, which is a relevant point, but it lacks specific examples or deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point made directly links back to the concept of eco-tourism and provide more detailed explanations for your arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression within them is sometimes disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition to this' and 'For example', but the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'that fresh water should be utilized', where the antecedent is not explicitly defined. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the environmental arguments and the economic arguments could be smoother to create a more cohesive argument throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'throwing the garbage' and 'earn more profit'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'hoteling business' and 'hunting should be ban' (should be 'banned'). While the meaning is clear, the range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions that would demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('People from city starts', 'They runs') and incorrect verb forms ('which be a cause', 'should be ban'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex structures. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve your score.
