Student answer (Band 5.5)
Sustainability of environment is is rapidly increasing concern now a days and more people wants to prefer tourism in an environmentally-friendly ways, as a consequence, the eco-tourism industry is expanding.
From my perspective, it is a positive trend to safe our environment. In this modern era, Tourism is expanding at rapid rate because people want to enjoy some cozy and nature-friendly places to take a break from their busy and hectic routine of life. But on the other hand, it is of paramount importance to conserve the environment from the deteriorated effects caused by tourism and other human activities.
On one hand, the eco-tourists travelling should be responsible to make the environment healthy and peaceful for the locals as well for the tourists. The tourism can cause some positive impacts on environment by conserving the nature and helps the locals to keep the hotels, resorts and local markets of tourist places neat and clean. They should avoid throwing waste in water streams and consuming extra water and energy. Moreover, they should avoid private transport rather use the public transport to reduce the air pollution. All these measure could help to improve the climate conditions.
On the other hand, Rapid and poorly managed tourism can serious harm the local cultures and their environment. For example, people from all over the world go to visit Bali, Switzerland and some other beautiful places but there can be some pollution causing factors which occur due to travelling by planes as well as by trains and some other transportation sources. Due to all these factors, there can be equally severe consequences for environment. Mass tourism often produces excessive waste, increases water and energy consumption, and contributes to air pollution through flights, cruise ships and road transport. Fragile ecosystems are particularly vulnerable and wild life can be destroyed by human activities which has negative impacts on environment.
In conclusion, eco-tourists travelling can save the environment from poor conditions and also helpful to save the habitat for wildlife. It can also helps to conserve the coastal areas from pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the positive and negative aspects of eco-tourism. You clearly state your position that it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide some relevant points regarding waste management and transportation, the conclusion is repetitive and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more thoroughly explained and that the conclusion adds value rather than simply restating the introduction. The response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis could be improved to fully explore the 'extent' of the trend.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition from the benefits of eco-tourism to the negative impacts of mass tourism could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of the argument would benefit from more sophisticated linking words to connect the ideas within and between paragraphs more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'paramount importance', 'deteriorated effects', and 'fragile ecosystems'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'safe our environment' (should be 'save') and 'eco-tourists travelling' (which is slightly awkward phrasing). You attempt to use less common vocabulary, which is good, but some inaccuracies persist. To improve, focus on using collocations more naturally and ensuring that your word forms are correct in context. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Sustainability of environment is is rapidly increasing' (repetition and article usage), 'people wants to prefer' (subject-verb agreement), and 'can serious harm' (should be 'seriously harm'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with comma usage. The errors do not typically impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of adverbs will help improve your accuracy.
