Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses the topic of eco-tourism, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack depth. The position is clear, but the supporting points, such as the mention of public transport and paper products, are somewhat tangential to the core concept of eco-tourism. The conclusion is brief and does not effectively summarize the main points. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations and specific examples to reach the required length and provide a more comprehensive response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often hindered by awkward phrasing and limited use of cohesive devices. While some transition words like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are sometimes applied incorrectly or in a mechanical fashion. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is present but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary depth to create a smooth, coherent argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'eco friendly' and 'positive'. There are several spelling errors, such as 'amployees', 'botle', 'conclution', 'thwe', 'pevent', and 'desiase', which distract the reader. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To achieve a higher band score, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to the environment and tourism, and work on your spelling accuracy. Using a wider variety of synonyms and more sophisticated academic vocabulary will help convey your points more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'benefits goes', 'many country take'), article usage (e.g., 'to pollution free environment'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'it is an increase in eco friendly environmental'). The range of grammatical structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some attempts at complex ones that are often faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors will significantly improve your writing.
