Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response fails to fully address the prompt. While it mentions eco-tourism, the ideas are underdeveloped and often irrelevant, such as the discussion on learning languages or experiencing food. The position is unclear, and the essay lacks specific examples or logical support for the 'extent' of the trend. Furthermore, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. The content is repetitive and lacks a clear focus on the environmental implications requested by the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks logical progression. Paragraphs are disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'One is the primary reasons (TOPIC) has become paramount'. The referencing is frequently unclear, and the structure of the argument is difficult to follow. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the internal flow within paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to identify a coherent line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is limited and contains frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'rapildly', 'envirnoment', 'garenered', and 'carriers' (instead of careers). The student relies on repetitive phrasing and placeholders like '(TOPIC)' and '(p2)', which indicates a lack of control over the language. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the misuse of terms often impedes the clarity of the message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'In today's rapildly world ,the topic at the envirnoment is growing fastly and may people adoptinf eco-tourists up to some extend'. The range of structures is very limited, and the high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to read and understand.
