Student answer (Band 6.0)
Growing concern for the environment among people is leading to responsible travelling paired with environmental-friendly ways benefitting the expansion of eco-tourism. It has a very positive trend in the expansion of eco-tourism industry. Tourism as an industry has a very significant influence on the economy of a state or country as it brings people from all over the world boosting local businesses.
However, with the increasing number of tourist day by day, contractors are being forced to clear up forests to build accomadation and several facilities to host those tourist leading to the destruction of the existing habitat in that particular region. This destruction of forests and its ecosystem is leading wild animals coming into contact with civilians inflicting damage and threat to human lives, for instance widespread deforestation of trees in the north east has lead to wild animals such as tiger coming in contact with civilians posing threat to human life. This also lead to te contribution in rapid climate changes and aiding global warming caused due to rapid deforestation in several areas. Policy makers have issued strict guidelines for the protection of forests and wildlifes.
Tourist are being mindful and aware of their actions leading to less loiterring in public areas and using dedicated dustbins for dumping thing which are not in need. Majority of the tourist population are choosing locations and using sustainable items while travelling which wouldn't pose any threats to the wildlife or environment and are always looking for more environmentally-friendly option.
However, it is not prevalent everywhere till now, a portion of tourist are simply ignorant about their actions while travelling and continue to loiter in public. In order to resolve this issue fines are being issue to this kind of tourist in places
In conclusion, although it is still in its rudimentary phase but eco-tourism is the future and growing at a rapid rate leading to better future in the long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether the expansion of the eco-tourism industry is a positive trend. You present arguments on both sides, noting the economic and environmental awareness benefits alongside the potential drawbacks of habitat destruction from clearing forests for infrastructure. A clear position is maintained throughout the essay, concluding that eco-tourism represents a positive future direction. Ideas are generally well supported with examples, such as referencing widespread deforestation in the north east causing tigers to come into contact with humans. However, some arguments could be further extended or explained with greater depth to reach higher band thresholds. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed adequately with a consistent, clear viewpoint, aligning well with the Band 6.5 to 7.0 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas from economic impacts to environmental drawbacks, followed by tourist awareness and subsequent policy interventions. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, though some paragraph breaks feel slightly abrupt or underdeveloped, such as the single-sentence final paragraph. Cohesive devices are employed, including transitional phrases like 'However' and 'In conclusion', but referencing and conjunctions can occasionally be mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'This also lead to te contribution in rapid climate changes'. While the organizational structure is clear enough to guide the reader without major confusion, the occasional mechanical transition and minor structural lapses place this firmly at Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'infrastructure', 'inflicting damage', and 'rudimentary phase'. However, there are notable word-choice errors, incorrect collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'environmental-friendly' instead of 'environmentally friendly', 'accomadation' instead of 'accommodation', 'loiterring', and 'fines are being issue'. Despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary is minimally sufficient to convey your central arguments without severely impeding communication. To achieve a higher band, greater precision in word formation and spelling accuracy are required.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, attempting relative clauses and participial phrases such as 'growing concern for the environment among people is leading to...'. However, grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'wild animals coming into contact... has lead' (should be 'have led'), tense inconsistencies, and missing articles ('a portion of tourist', 'wildlifes'). Punctuation errors are also present, such as missing periods or commas connecting independent clauses. While these errors do not completely obscure the meaning, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching higher band scores where error-free complex sentences must predominate.
