Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether the expansion of eco-tourism is a positive trend, presenting an overall position in agreement. Ideas are introduced and supported with examples, such as retail shops in Rajasthan forts and environmental preservation in New Zealand. However, the development of ideas lacks full clarity in places, and some arguments slip into discussing general tourism rather than strictly eco-tourism. The conclusion is somewhat contradictory regarding legislative rules. While all parts of the task are addressed, the depth of extension and logical consistency places the response within Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, and an overall progression is attempted with standard cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'What is more', and 'In contrast'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, the transition 'Wether its is benefical in eco trousim ,while having concern towards environment' is confusing and disrupts logical flow. Paragraphing is present, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs occasionally feels disjointed, leading to a Band 6 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'burgeoning', 'stringent', and 'detrimental'. However, there are frequent spelling and word-choice errors, including 'indviduals', 'nation' instead of nations, 'educatinal', 'trousim', 'ehance', 'tounsgters', 'preseve', 'accountibilty', 'polloution', 'prevenlant', and 'legisalitves'. These errors show limited control over word formation and spelling, aligning with a Band 5 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. However, the text contains a high density of grammatical and punctuation errors throughout, such as sentence fragments ('Wether its is benefical...'), incorrect verb forms ('masses followes'), and structural awkwardness ('Due to legisalitves rules, neither the environment can be preserved nor the masses being responsible...'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a Band 6.
