Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays concern for the enviornment is growing very fastly and many tourists are opting to be eco-tourists and are choosing to travel in responsible, environmentally-friendly ways. Due to these choices eco-tourism industry is expanding and growing beyond extent. In my opinion i think this is a positive trend which can help in maintaining better enviornment and reduce pollution risk in multiple ways.
On the one hand, eco-tourism is better for the enviornment in many particular ways because we can reduce many types of pollutions through this trend, local business can earn more profit through this trend. For example if a group of people goes to national park to enjoy the scenery of natural plantation or wild life animals so following eco-tourism they can reduced waste but not throwing litter, they should not distrub animals moreover, they can avoid using unnecessary use of plastic these all precautions are the main motive of eco-toursim. These precautions are promoted through eco tourism and this is a better way to enjoy your trips.
On the other hand, as stated before that business can earn more profit through this trend is also a another advantage, for example a business can change its name to a more eco-friendly option and can change it ways to support the eco-tourism due to which tourists will choose businesses which are supporting and promoting this trend. Furthermore local residents of the area can also earn through this working as a tour guide this will provide them a better earning opportuinity and help.
In conclusion, the people choosing to be eco-toursist are helping enviornment in very excellent way which is very important and must thing for our surrounding. In my opinion eco-tourism protecting enviornment and supporting local communities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing whether eco-tourism is a positive trend and providing reasons and examples, such as waste reduction and benefits to local businesses. However, the development is uneven. While the idea that eco-tourism helps protect the environment is supported with examples like avoiding plastic and not throwing litter, the economic benefits section tends to over-generalize and lacks deep elaboration. The writer's position is clear throughout the essay, but some supporting ideas remain slightly under-developed, placing this aspect of the response firmly at the corresponding level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and body paragraphs that attempt to follow a logical sequence. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and repetitive, relying heavily on transitional phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' in a slightly rigid manner. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'due to which tourists will choose businesses which are supporting and promoting this trend', and paragraphing could be managed more fluidly to ensure a smoother progression of ideas from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate main ideas about the environment and tourism. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'enviornment' (repeatedly misspelled), 'fastly', and 'distrub', though these generally do not impede communication. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary like 'eco-tourists', 'eco-friendly option', and 'opportuinity', but inaccuracies in spelling and collocation prevent the response from achieving a higher rating.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures and relative clauses used in 'if a group of people goes to national park... they can reduced waste'. However, there are frequent errors in verb forms and agreement, including tense inconsistencies ('they can reduced waste') and missing articles ('goes to national park', 'working as a tour guide'). Punctuation is also weak, with several run-on sentences containing comma splices. These grammatical errors and the limited control over complex structures mean communication is occasionally strained.
